United Kingdom
General community for news/discussion in the UK.
Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.
Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

Maybe we need a new special relationship...
God no. French are the pettiest most arrogant cunts in the world.
The British will want something even if the rest of Europe agrees and France will argue about fish.
I know Brits like to joke about the French but I like France. And they're a pretty similar country to the UK from a geopolitical standpoint. Both countries have their own nukes, both are permanent members of the UN Security Council, and both have very similarly sized populations and economies (both have about 68 million people, while Germany has 83 million people).
So maybe France is a natural European ally for the UK. And of course France is right next to the UK.
France with a completely serious hat on is most of the reason the UK is as pro US as it historically has been. They've tried to block or impede our involvement with practically every European project, leaving us with little practical alternative.
And the reason this happened is ironically because they fear letting us in with let the US into Europe
