He's acting like a child about a life threatening illness. This smacks of a pity based "whataboutism" to take away from someone going through a genuinely bad time.

IDK that's such an awful and terrifying thing to have willed yourself back from. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Now do I wish heate nothing but expired Dilberitos every day of his life? Yes, yes I do want that for him.
