How do we put an end to this ridiculous "unalive" trend? It's oppressive and childish.

Just say kill instead of this dystopian Tik Tok bullshit. I refuse to use any service that won't let me talk about the real world without using insane workarounds. It serves nobody's best interests and is only an arms race of fear because people think McDonald's would prefer to sell hamburgers next to the word unalive rather than dead or kill.

I would really like a new age of social media that uses technology advances to monitor intent, not language.

Censoring someone from saying “I’ve made a lot of advances in my mental health since I was raped, but it feels like I’m hiding my whole struggle anytime I step out the door.” is ironically going to damage their mental health. Meanwhile, use of that word in many other sentences should obviously trigger a ban. And to go one further, many sentences with all “safe” words can be the most harmful.

I would even say that type of censorship leads people to falsely believe everything is fine in the world, and that causes like diversity initiatives or police reform are unnecessary.

I was trying to share a news article about the local police mishandling rape cases and there was literally no way I could phrase a description of it that wasn't getting censored by social media. It was extremely disturbing to me that I would either have to explain it in extremely vague terms like you'd explain it to a child or just not share it at all. Meanwhile, actual fascist propaganda is being allowed on these platforms and staying up. It's absurd.
