As some of you already have seen the lemm.ee admins have announced that the instance is shutting down at the end of the month.

The question for us is where should we migrate next.

Returning to !football@lemmy.world is always an option, alternatively we could move to either another established and stable lemmy instance or migrate to a piefed instance.

Piefed instances federate with lemmy instances as normal, and it allows for adding flairs to community posts and users, something not yet implemented on Lemmy. I haven't tried Piefed myself yet so I would need to dig more into it if it is a popular option.

Ultimately the choice for our next destination is up to you guys!

I just wanted to say that I agree we should migrate to !football@soccer.forum I believe it's the best option for now. @roserose56@lemmy.ca @rglullis@communick.news @sabreW4K3@lazysoci.al

You can criticize me but going to an instance called soccer instead of football is nuts for me

I discussed with the admin before, he was ready to get another domain name, but it seems like football domain name are hard to get

HAHA! Yes, I agree. Head on over to !football@sopuli.xyz. This looks like our best place to migrate.
