It's a fair sentiment, Canada's not perfect either. Compared to down south though, I think Canada's recent history is a whole lot better, but perhaps the last election there (down south I mean) set the bar too low...

The point is, both countries can and should do more, but one of them has clearly regressed to a far worse status than the other.

BTW, before anyone tries to jump to the defense here and say that it's possible that this person didn't know about the edits or follow-on posts, be aware that an admin reached out to this user with that info but they didn't care. (Though he did respond - he edited his post to double down on the "white supremacists" bit after being told about the POC BLM supporter.)

In fact I'd go further. While it'd be nice if the original commenter did acknowledge the efforts of those USians who opposed the current administration (and those who still do), the OC may have just made the logical fallacy of a hasty generalization.

By contrast, I don't see any possible justification for this user who seems to knowingly and willingly falsely accuse folks of racism who, to put it plainly, are the polar opposite. I don't know the term for what this is, and I admit that it's technically not racism itself, but it's something that's almost as bad.

Edit: P.S. Aside from not being a good luck, it seems harmful to drive away allies in this manner.
