Explanation: Shogunate, the term for the military rulership of feudal Japan, sounds like shotgun.
That's it. That's all.
I also remember that in one your old posts, samurais prefered guns. how much does thee timing align? i know shogun as a title is essentialy millitary leader, and they must have some samurai under, which may have had guns. Is their circumstantially possible?
The shotguns depicted, and shotguns in general as we would recognize them, are all very modern guns, all of them post-dating the Shogunate.
There were samurai under the Shogunate who used guns - Tokugawa Ieyasu, who claimed the title of Shogun around ~1600 AD, was an avid proponent of the use of firearms. But none that would look like these guns.
