If you like turn based combat games like XCOM then maybe try putting the difficulty up to tactician.
But like 2/3rds of the game is just dialoge if you aren't into that.
Hmmm yeah I do like a lot of dialogue/story-heavy games. One of my absolute favourite games is Disco Elysium, which is like 90% dialogue. One of the things that bothers me about most games nowadays, especially AAA ones, is that they don't put all that much into the writing side of things. I kinda get why but a lot of the time a poorly written game just ruins the rest of it for me
I would vouch for the writing of BG3, i don't think it's as good as Disco Elysium tho.
How far did you get? The Grove is the first town you will find and you can start getting goals and quests from the people there.
Personally my favorite part of the game story wise is when you get to Balders Gate in Act 3, but that's also after building up the characters and plot points and having them culminate there.
I would say the game gets more interesting the more you play it, as a lot of the story is influenced and built up to with your past actions. Also your party members are always boring at first IMO and you have to get their stories from them which ended up making me like them more over time.
