I fucking despise how the media still calls grifters "populists" and make it sound like an evil word...

Populism is a contested concept[1][2] for a variety of political stances that emphasize the idea of the "common people", often in opposition to a perceived elite.[3] It is frequently associated with anti-establishment and anti-political sentiment.[4]

Authentic populism would be the fucking shit, and the only solution that can work.

For fucks sake, I don't understand how populism wouldn't be the natural state of every healthy democracy.

Populists tend to reject political pluralism.

They claim they are the ONLY ONES representing the people™. The danger is they can start attacking the media, judges... claiming that the people™ are on their side.

Uncontrolled populism can lead to dictatorship. Even left-wing populism. Look at Venezuela.
