The (funny?) thing is, I genuinely believe that if it can be 100% undeniably proven to his base (which is a task in and of itself) that Trump sucked off Clinton, it would be more damaging to his image for them than if he was proven to be a child molester.
I heard someone say once that the worst possible thing he could do for approval ratings with his base is go on TV and actually, earnestly apologize for something he did wrong and show true empathy. Like tears in his eyes “I am so sorry” acknowledgement of a wrong.
Democrats would love a representative with human emotion, but it would be an instant career killer for the GOP.
You know this made me think that it's probably the case that while they think what the Democrats are doing are bringing them further away from their religion, really it's what the Republicans are doing that's the most damaging to that relationship.
Ironic huh?
