General community for news/discussion in the UK.

Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.

Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

I passionately dislike the tories, and there's a daily laundry list of corrupt / unkind things we can criticise them on. I don't think this issue is specific to them though, I'd imagine Labour will have to deal with the same shit from hostile nation states once they're (hopefully) back in power.

They're going to target whoever is in control at any given point.

They often get promising candidates early in their career and that allows them to turn the screws when they rise through the ranks. It's why Oxford and Cambridge was (still is?) a good hunting ground for the KGB. So I imagine they've got their hooks into people in Labour too.

(still is?)

The KGB stopped existing nearly 32 years ago now along with the USSR so it would be a bit surprising if it was still looking to recruit at Oxbridge...

KGB still exists in Belarus.
