No one's missing much, I've eaten frog twice, once in the US and once in France.
it lacks much flavor and is somewhat like chicken in that department, but the meat has a weird greasy, slimey, oily texture thing to it that really puts me off.
That being said, if you get the opportunity to try alligator, treat yo' self. Fried alligator bites > chicken wings.
Got almost the opposite experience here. Liked frog legs almost as much as chicken, but found both alligator meat and alligator jerky offputtingly fishy.
