Will we be upset if Apple Watch X means our existing, extensive watchband collection no longer works? (alien.top)

Per title. We knew it was coming some day, tho perhaps not this soon. Will you be upset if you need ugly adapter to make your extensive + expensive watchband collection work?

I’m doubtful they’ll change it is such a way as to require entirely new bands. I’m skeptical of the magnetic attachment rumors. We already have warnings about magnetic bands and the compass. So now they’ll add magnets directly to the watch? Apple patents and explores a lot of ideas that never come to market.

It won’t require new bands, you’ll just need a dongle.

Nah, they'll do away with bands, you'll need an embedded wrist socket.

I actually think this might be true, obviously not a dongle in the traditional sense but an adapter of sorts to allow the previous bands to fit.

If Apple doesn’t make it, I’m sure a 3rd party would, and the patents on the current watch mechanism has got to be expired by now? 🤔 so I think it’d be easy for someone else to make an adapter to connect them with any new system.
