I don't get the reasoning behind the poll. If the admins don't allow to shut r/piracy down then just post links to pirated material. It's closed.

Wasn't this sub in danger of being closed a few years ago? So let them.

Let's promote other Reddit alternatives and redirect every damn post to Lemmy's thread 😝

I think it would be more funny to post only Lemmy Kilmister pictures.

[–] Awhiskeydrunker@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

I am having fun with the John Oliver stuff but now that you mention it… the protest pictures should be pictures of Lemmy Kilmister with a bin, with a K on it. Huge missed opportunity.

I feel like they will ban it anyways before their IPO along with any other communities they deem "controversial"

This is so cool XD

I hope that all the major subs will also take this decision.

What do you see the chances for most people coming to Lemmy?

Lemmy is still a baby. Also the subreddit is still the entry point of many users who comes from search engines. Let it be open (restricted or not) and add some hints (not so obvious hints) redirecting users to lemmy. This will allow this community also grow.

I would prefer lemmy, you are free from all the reddit shenanigans, plus if there's any problems we could make our own server and still stay here, much more reasonable

[–] lemonsh@pawb.social 1 points 2 years ago

Yea, I'm gonna stay on Lemmy. It's not as engaging, but that's a good thing - less time spent on social media is always better.

[–] ReCursing@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Here's a few I made with Stable Diffusion

Prompt: sexy pose, John Oliver as a pirate
Negative prompt: penis
Model: Virile Fusion

I can make more if people want, potentially full-on pornographic, but, uh, I'm not sure that's a good idea without his say so!

[–] ReCursing@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Oh dear, for my own entertainment I tried "John Oliver as a pirate, fucking a hot twink", and got... John Oliver as a hot twink fucking John Oliver as a hot twink, or in one case, connected at the penis to same!

[–] immibis@social.immibis.com 1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

@ReCursing @db0 i'm just gonna assume Virile Fusion is an image AI trained on porn.

DeepCreamPy still holds the record for best name, though.

Incredible to see so many Huffman's simps in the comments, no wonder why the blackouts weren't that effective

[–] db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It just means most of the people with principles have already moved here, or that reddit is engaging in disgusting levels of astroturfing. The latest Announcement is even worse. Regardless, it's just ruined.

[–] TheTrueLinuxDev@beehaw.org 1 points 2 years ago

I guess it's for the best that those astroturfing people stay on Reddit while we can enjoy the Lemmy-verse.
