I apparently got shadow banned almost a year ago from blahaj, for a comment I made on lemmy.world (infosec.pub)

For the record I was posting in support of inclusive language, but pointing out that context and convention matter.

They seem to have even scrubbed my comment from their instance, lol.

I think it's really easy to construe "get over it" as dismissive of a marginalized group's concerns. That's how it comes across to me. If it needs context to seem less so, it could probably use better wording.

OP's complaint is that he was not aware of the ban so he was commenting into nothing.

This is really software issue, they can ban him, and he can block them back. No problem at all.

The issue is that these servers are blocking new people and they might get pissed about not knowing it. This is UX issue for fediverse.

On top of it, these bans are arbitrary and capricious for the most part, so again, this will piss anyone who does know how fediverse works.

We got 50k AMU, with too many mods with nothing to do, so they find busy work.

Tankies don't do perma bans tho... They do 1 month gulag for disrespect to daddy shepooh.

There is at least some consistency there.

These clowns are essentially see a comment they dont like else where then go ban the commenter on the sub their are modding.

This behaviour is not not normal people

This also happened to reddit but modlog really exposing how a lot of modding decisions are vibes based or out right censorship

They're based asf for that. I've said a lot of things that triggered the tankies on ml and it's just been 2-5 day bans.
