DayZ and Dwarf Fortress. The DF official soundtrack is so ooooo good

Having a blast with FF XVI. It's definitely one of the most polished of recent games, everything just looks and plays fantastic. Even if the game is super shallow as soon as you do anything other than the main story. The fantastic voice of Ralph Ineson is the cherry on top.

[–] HoloTheWolf@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Agree with you on the polish of FF16, but not so much on the side quests. I find that some of them - not all - add a little extra to the main quest line. But I'm also finding everything in the game to be pretty enjoyable.

Currently playing Death Stranding and feeling fit from the amount of virtual walking and carrying I've done. Next in queue is Everspace 2.

Beat the Miles Morales game recently. Got 100% completion too. Not often I ever complete a game either. Still got a ways to go with Tears of the Kingdom, and then probably a return to Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories. I've gotta beat that game and I can finally play KH2 with a clear conscience.

I've been playing Battlebit Remastered on Steam and holy shit while it looks awful it's one of the funnest FPS I have played in a while. Super fun, super smooth, and scratches the COD itch from when I was a kid. I HIGHLY reccomend it!

Also Tears of the Kingdom.

[–] teft@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

That's the low poly shooter right? That actually looks pretty fun. I'll have to try it.

[–] SPOOSER@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Yeah I was hesitant at first because of the low poly but the gameplay is top tier.

[–] MrTuttle@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

+1 on Battlebit. Battlefield 1942, and similarly Vietnam, were my favorite. I always felt like Dice/EA just kept gradually turning everything up to 11 after that. Battlebit feels like a well balanced, intentional concept, that balances speed, strategy, and the opportunities for ridiculous moments just right!

Almost done with Control right now. It's a really good game. A little too creepy though!

Legend of Zelda BoTW. Trying to finish the game before I start playing ToTK.

[–] _sideffect@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

You're definitely going to burn yourself out on that formula

First witcher right now. Tried it like 10 years ago and couldn't get past the clunky controls. In the meantime I've read most of the books and played the other games, so I had to give it a go and this time around I'm really enjoying it!

Still playing Tears of the Kingdom.

I will launch up Tactic Ogre Reborn when I'm traveling. Working on endgame right now in that one.

[–] Winged_Hussar@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Steam Deck:

  • This means warp (co-op rogue-like that's pretty fun)
  • Dicey Dungeons

PC:

  • Tiny Tina's Wonderlands
  • Guild Wars 2

Lemmy. It's a pretty nice minigame whilst between breaks.

...

what?

[–] MiddleWeigh@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Nah this is a legit answer.

[–] MissJinx@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

I'm an old lady so I'm playing farm tycoon on switch and Kairosoft's dream town island on my phone.

[–] _sideffect@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Totk and I started to listen to earthbound music while at work, so I loaded up Mother 1 on 3ds... The save game put me at magicant, and I went back to the starting town and got killed by a death truck... Ninten can't breathe!

[–] DaveFuckinMorgan@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Zelda link between worlds.

[–] solidsnake2085@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

You should try the Yakuza games. I'm currently on Yakuza 0 with 150 hours in it. I'm gonna have to play through again to get all the achievements, but it has been one of most fun games I've ever played.

[–] GlowHuddy@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

God of war on the SteamDeck ^^ I remember when it was a PS4 exclusive and I really wanted to play it. It feels incredible to be able to play, while holding the whole machine in my hands.

[–] TheSpookiestUser@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Right now, Battlebit Remastered (which I just bought). Despite being not that good at the gunplay yet, I'm doing well and having fun just playing a medic and dragging people out of the line of fire for revives and heals. Highlight of today was frantically healing everyone in a full chopper while we dueled an enemy chopper over a capture point, with the pilot micspamming Pirates of the Caribbean music the whole time. Really brings me back to the good ol days of multiplayer lobbies (without a lot of the casual bigotry - game seems pretty good at actually banning it so far).

[–] Gatsby@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago

Been kinda burned out on videogames, I've been playing tears of the kingdom but I got the master sword about two weeks ago and haven't gone back to the game since.

Still play Dungeons and Dragons twice a week

[–] danielfgom@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

PS4: Assetto Corsa Conpetizione and Drive Club. My two favourites.

[–] puddlexplorer@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Completely burned out, but I occasionally play Death Stranding, because that bad boy knows how to keep everything tight. I'm thinking about delving into the world of emulation, maybe some TRPGs - will see.

Subnautica has been amazing! It is one of the best open world games ever made and I highly recommend it!

[–] pory@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Oh lord, are you playing subnautica because of the Oceangate news lmao

[–] withdrawn@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I'm deep into the second act of Ghost of Tsushima and I'm completely baffled how I missed this game when it came out. It's absolutely beautiful in every way possible

Zelda and Brotato. Brotato is like the actualization of what all the Vampire Survivors clones could be. Unlike the rest of the genre, you're not getting massive permanent scaling boosts, just unlocks for items that can appear in the runs roguelike style.

[–] Ace_Addams@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Tears of the Kingdom and fallout 76

[–] hungryish@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Winding down on Zelda: TotK. Just started Path of Exile which has been in my Steam library for ages. I want to play Diablo IV, but I don't want to pay $70.

[–] PKRockin@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Working my way through Nova Lands, Diablo 4, FF16, and Big Pharma :)

Rock and stone to the bone!

[–] Xylinna@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Currently playing Octopath 2. It’s has some interesting plot points and I like the turn based combat system and has a great nostalgia style for old pixel games.

[–] vaultjanitor@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Replaying RDR2. I never beat it the first time, got burnt out around 80-90% of the story and gave up. Planning on finishing it up this time around.

[–] aadrcw@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Currently doing yet another play through in Skyrim VR (Heavily modded of course) If you have a vr headset and have never tried it, I can highly recommend. Keep in mind there are a few essential mods to make the VR version worth playing.

[–] jerrimu@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Just started diablo 3 on switch, got it a month or two ago on sale, started playing a day ago. Damn it's fun!

I played d1 100 years ago, and havent messed with it since. Don't know how long I'll be playing, but having a blast for now.

[–] MiddleWeigh@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

I haven't played Diablo in a minute, wonder if it'd run on my broke ass set up 🤔
