In the USA the speed limit is treated like a suggestion for how fast you should be going.

This was yesterday, someone going double the allowed speed in a city. Happens regularly. A few people get caught, but it doesn't make a difference.

In Denmark, 6km/h (3.7m/h for our handicap friends) costs you 1200DKK = $183 = 160EUR, so it is definitely a thing that works on everyone.
