Can't sleep, appear to be wide awake. But as I typed that, I yawned.

Lament to a Technological Masterpiece
I'm missing my old CD player,
It had a tape deck too.
Where it came from I don't remember,
But it was grey and transparent blue.
Recorded hits off the built-in radio,
Replayed until the tape wore thin.
I guess I sailed some shallow seas,
Before I knew what it was to swim.
If only my PC had a CD player,
I'd burn them all into ones and zeros;
My collection inscribed to the aether.
A future-task for a flush Stud-Hero.
Does anyone know/remember this CD? My Dad had a copy when I was a kid (90s/2000s) and I was able to buy this from the ~~VicPol~~ Blue Ribbon website (which I was stoked about). Anyway, if you're able to get a copy, it has some of the best covers :)
Not that particular CD, which surprised me because I think my folks had every other police band CD you can get!
Haha this was the only police band CD we had haha
It took me ages to find it (when I was looking during the pandemic) because I couldn't remember the name of it! I kept searching for 'victoria police band covers' and Google kept showing me the bloody pipe-band, which this is not. I finally found an image of the album art and was able to search the name (Offbeat). I ended up buying it from this site https://copshop.com.au/product/cd-off-beat-live/ which apparently is the official Blue Ribbon Foundation shop site lol.
Definitely reccomend this one, especially if you haven't heard it before.
Edit: had a look inside and I think this one was released in 1999, the 'year of the older persons' apparently, and so they did this album to honor? old people? idk. the songs are great!
Mmmm tacos., ๐ฎ๐ฎ๐ฎ
Whatโs your preference? Soft or hard tacos?
I don't think I've tried soft ones yet, so won't be able to provide a neutral answer.
That being said, now I'm craving for some. With ground beef.
You know what you gotta do and maybe make some soft tacos. Tbh I prefer hard tacos. The crunch is so satisfying
I went to buy my frozen cheesecake ( thanks @useless_modern_god@kbin.social ) and I headed for Sara Lee, spotted a Coles lemon curd one and my fingers hungrily grabbed that one.
Before anyone says they're really easy to make I know I know I know. I have made them before.
Lazy kinda day, lots of cat playtyime, aa stuff and a dentist visit. I've got some work needs doing and I'll be down a grand but I haven't been since 2019 so it serves right. Still come out about even but I really need to start being a lot more serious about flossing. Favourite comment today, "oh girl, you're such a lesbian", from my bestie. She's phenomenal. I'm so blessed she popped up out of nowhere this year after ten years of the odd catch up every year or two. Got an unexpected last week long service leave week's pay also which instantly gets eaten by the dentist but I'm still pretty happy overall I didn't need fillings or extractions and the money is there to pay the bill. I also saved myself from needing dentures, another year and I'd have been fucked.
People probably think I'm weird for saying aa has changed my whole perspective on spirituality and my future, but I love the fellowship. Talk about reliable, caring, loving and sober people. Having shared lived experience is where I'm at with my new peers, both trans and alcoholic. I needed wholesome people in my life and I'm starting to build a whole new circle of much better friends. Between that and the comaraderie here in the aussie zone, I'm feeling a really authentic sense of connection. My feelings of loneliness and isolation are basically gone. Everything's coming up hones.
Dinner will be the two $1.20 salads I bought from woolies discount bin with some mayo ketchup.
Ren - Hi Ren - came across this over at @music@lemmy.world (I think). I had not heard this before. It's good.
