reminds me of the time my center right govt decided that the center right approach to our taxation system of self employed people working in software would be to force them to use the free market to bill the companies abroad instead of adding a feature to our tax payment system.

Because nothing says "lower taxes" like making me pay $15 a month to a private corporation so that I can continue doing business and paying taxes instead of being paid under the table.

Thanks center right party!

EDIT : Not to mention the actually infuriating part, which was having to fucking hunt down, waste time and arrange a meeting with said company, sign up with them, and do some bullshit bank transfers to hook all this shit up. Also, while struggling with the required legal system and arcane language as an immigrant.

EDIT2 : Oh right, not only did I have to fuck about with the external company, I also had to go to our tax HQ to hook up the bullshit in the tax system end; AND got a bunch of threatening messages from the tax system to start this whole process. Wheras before, I was just writing generic reciepts and passing it on, getting paid and reporting my taxes monthly to the tax system.

yeah, because the process of choosing between multiple dogshit companies offering the same basic solution to my problem really made me feel free.
