Mamdani's victory is a bfd. Local elections matter. Trump and his hideous flying monkeys want us afraid. Some Democrats have been hiding their faces, others are trying to regroup. These elections show that those who refuse to abandon trans Americans, who refuse to cower before the hateful Republican agenda, can win handily. It's a message. It means, we're not giving up. We defy you, Stephen Miller. Andrew Cuomo, we reject you.

It was still a sub 25% voter turnout. I want to believe this means tides are turning but I don't know.
Now if only Newsom and Kamala could get with the program.
The more things go in this direction, the more likely they are to join in. The biggest reason they're (at best) wishy-washy in this area is that they're trying to pull centrist votes.
If the apparent center shifts, they'll shift with it.
Imagine if they actually had a spine and stood for something right. Hopefully instead of 'coming too', they get replaced by decent humans.
Maybe they'll stop with that shit now. It had the stink of desperation this time around. Time to think up some other (probably equally disgusting) strategy. It for damn sure won't be good policy positions.
More of a rebuke of facist policies.
