From what I know, most of these parasites end up being useful one way or another: mosquitoes are part of the dragonfly diet, mites eat dead crap, roundworms play a role in soil ecology...

The bourgeoisie seems to be the uniquely useless and harmful one.

Tick, flea, and the bourgeoisie

These are the parasites killing me

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 3 points 23 hours ago

Ticks on your skin, lice in your hair, but the biggest threats are the billionaires.

[–] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 day ago

Came here to point out how nice "tick flea bourgeoisie" flowed, glad you had the same idea!

I think Bezos, Theil, Murdoch, Ellison, and the Walton's deserves a spot in that pic much more than Obama and HRC (and hell even Gates for that matter. I wouldn't even say Jobs is that bad by modern standards), but that wouldn't fit your both sides narrative, would it?

[–] 0_o7@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Your "hur due both sides" deflection isn't the "my team gets preferential treatment" flex you think it is.

Fuck Obama and Fuck Trump

War criminals deserve shaming. Go lick some boots.

Never said they weren't bad.

Said that if you are looking for examples of evil billionaires, there are plenty that are far worse than HRC or Obama. Who, btw, their combined net worth isn't even a quarter of a billion. So neither of them are even close to being billionaires. Clinton family is 12% of the way to a billion. Obama family is 7%.

Guaranteed, any oil exec or healthcare exec is responsible for the deaths of far more innocent children than Obama could ever dream of drone-striking.

Guaranteed that the Walton's robbed you, personally, of more money than Trump and Obama, combined, even if you've never set foot in a Walmart, by subsidizing their payroll line with our taxes for EBT instead of paying their employees a livable wage.

But shits like you think the Walmart employee with the EBT is the problem if you happen to catch them buying one nice (as in, more than $5/head) meal a month.

It's not a both sides narrative. It's the rich vs the rest of us, and within that, left and right are irrelevant.

[–] Prunebutt@slrpnk.net 6 points 1 day ago

Nah, homie: That is the distinc ion between left and right.

[–] Prunebutt@slrpnk.net 10 points 1 day ago

Imma be frank with you: I don't see "both sides". I see nothing but one side: The capitalist one.

Its an older meme, notice Steve Jobs.

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

I did notice Steve Jobs. The Walton's, the Murdoch's, Theil, and Bezos were all billionaires the same time as Jobs, and I'd eagerly bet they're significantly more evil than him or HRC or Obama, by any objective measure (i.e. not just muh feels)

Not saying any of them are without flaws but...well, there are several (and more evil ones) that are notably missing.

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

No one was seriously talking about Thiel back than, no one really mentions the Waltons even today.

That leaves Murdoch, who should've been there but Obama literally droned kids so to say he is less deserving of the spot is pretty fucked up. American politicians have objectively caused far, far more harm to the world.

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah Alice Walton and/or Miriam Adelson if they want to include some women.

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Probably the real reason (aside from the both-sides narrative) is that HRC is along the few rich (and, importantly) powerful white women most Americans would recognize.

You could show me a picture of Alice Walton and I wouldn't recognize them. Hell I may have a bit of prosopagnosia, because you could put Noem up there as a surrogate for nearly every woman to work for the Trump administration and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Melinda Gates I may recognize...but she (was) the "heart" in B&MGF...the more humanitarian of the two... that wouldn't be fair at all.

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah that's why I chose Miriam Adelson rather than Melinda Gates. Noem would be fine with me too. Even though she's not listed among "female billionaires," she's still very much a parasite.

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 2 points 1 day ago

JK Rowling?
