Its not a setting, its a bug, look at the rotation lock and unlock it

Restart the phone.
Swipe down from the top right corner, there will be only one icon highlighted it White with a red lock on it. That is step one.
It's a bug on the iPhone, your kid didn't do this, if you turn your phone to the side then back to portrait, it should return to normal
Just restart your phone , it stucks at rotation
