For me it’s the option to individually lock apps.

Ability to play Roms without jailbreaking. Eclipse is nice but it’s limited.

[–] CouchHam@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

They could have actually used the features of DarkSky, but they just killed it off and now we’re stuck with a shitty weather app. And no, I’m not paying for Carrot.

Something fundamentally new software wise. It’s been many, many, many years……

App side loading outside the EU.

An easy way to separate alarm volume from ring volume.

[–] Subieworx@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Icon placement starting at the bottom!

[–] Sensitive_Most_1383@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Let me move around my app icons on my Home Screen however I want!!!!!

I switched from android 3 years ago and man I really miss being able to place the app icons anywhere on the screen and not locked to the grid.

[–] NRRW1996@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Only one thing? I can think of a few things! Naming my group chats that have android users in them (without having to use a third party app), split screen, placing my apps wherever I want (on my home screen), color coordinate my contacts, and better notifications!

It’s probably being able to sideload apps

Swipe gestures from the left or right to go back a page in an app or to back out of an app. I don't understand why Apple isn't willing to also do the things that Android does really well.

Comma on the face of the keyboard

The ability to add more languages to the native translation feature beyond the ones available.

[–] Professional_Ad_5862@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

- Siri to be much more helpfull, resorcefull and intelligent, also to work completly offline.

- more options for action button like double click and tripple as well as short and long press.

- ultrawide camera on the front the phone ( i know there is but its not as good and not as wide as the back one)

- Better battery life like actually whole day not some bs ''all day marketing shit''

The ability to choose which camera I use, manually adjust shutter speed, fingerprint sensor, RCS, sideloading, put apps where I want on the home screen, good widgets, pencil support, automatic data usage tracking, multitasking, and more

Connect my AirPods to 2 phones - my personal and my work phone - and no I don’t want them combined, I just want to be able to walk my dog on lunch while listening to music, a book, a podcast, whatever on my personal phone but still hear announcements/notifications on my AirPods from the work phone.

Oh and that device moving with you needs to be smarter - yeah it’s my work phone next to my personal phone and any one of, if not all 4 pairs of AirPods - they’re mine figure it out.

Finding contacts from dial keyboard.

[–] Andrado@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Notifications aren’t done as cleanly or usefully as on Android.

File management could be better.

[–] MaxTrixLe@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Lock Screen customization ! They added two tiny limited widgets that can’t be moved, I guess it’s a start…

individual volume control like Android. i.e. media, messages, calls, app notifications, alarms should all be separate settings in a quick access menu

Lowering the size of the Dynamic Island further

Ability to set default apps

  1. the keyboard is bad and the alternatives work even worse

  2. iOS is slow: animations are extenuating and there’s some sort of input block that prevents you from tapping in some cases. Also, sometimes swipes get stuck on the X axis if you are moving on the Y and vice versa. Android is significantly faster

  3. browsers cannot use their own engines and add-ons. They’re all Safari. But with no add-ons.

  4. there is no universal way to go back to the previous screen when using apps. Sometimes you are forced to contort your hand to go with your finger to the top of the screen to press a tiny icon (so the first attempt may even fail)

  5. there is no way to create albums separate from the main camera roll

  6. apps cannot operate in the background (with a few exceptions). You are basically forced to stare at the screen like a codfish if an app is doing something. You can't get out and do anything else, or the process will freeze. Is this even definable as “Pro”?

  7. It is unacceptable that the screen is still at 60 Hz. The price of iPhone (standard) is 1000€ in EU.

  8. here in Europe, iOS has neither built-in spam filter nor live voicemail to answer phone calls by artificial voice like on Google & Samsung

  9. you can't install open source apps outside the App Store

  10. much more, I got tired of writing

[–] OneFinePotato@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Keyboard and autocorrect is embarrassing. Worst part is the other iPhone users trying to convince me like “well you can always type it yourself…”. Then there’s notifications too but they are less offensive.

[–] rustyreedz@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yep Siri has been showing it’s age especially within the last year (generative artificial intelligence era)

[–] ME_IN_NYC2311@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It would be really nice if the name of your carrier and battery strength at the top of the screen could adapt based on your wallpaper. You can't use a wallpaper with a really light color at the top of the screen, because if you do your battery indicator becomes impossible to read.

[–] tahoe-sasquatch@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I want a simple app list like the Watch instead of page after page of apps. Organizing apps sucks. It’s slow and tedious. Just give me a list. The App Library is a step in the right direction.

[–] Shobed@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

You should be able to swipe up anywhere on the lock screen to get it to unlock instead of having to target the very bottom of the screen. Same with swiping down on the left side of the screen for the notifications or swiping down on the right side of the screen for the control center, you should be able to swipe anywhere on the screen not just from the very top.

[–] DogzillaMD@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Easy to apply custom ringtones and notification sounds.

[–] seagull_shit@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

To install any version I want freely and not the latest because thats what Apple wants. Would have solved a lot of headaches with my iPhone in the last decade. Cant stand that Apple doesnt let us downgrade and keeps building walls to prevent it

[–] Dj-Ken@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Don’t get me started , half the function android has

[–] SaiyanC124@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago
  1. Siri is the worst virtual assistant on the market, and I’m not being hyperbolic.

  2. For 15 Pro users, let the action button do more than one thing. Let us set a press and double press.
