Text thread wallpaper customization, keyboard customization, better lock-screen widgets, waving to camera for selfie, individual sound controls (phone volume v airpod volume, v speaker volume etc.)
Apple
A place for Apple news, rumors, and discussions.
High frequency PWM or DC dimming. Samsung has 240hz which is the worst in the market. iPhone has 480hz and pro has something worse then regular one.
PWM with low frequency can hurt your eyes, make you fatigue over a long period of time. Or worse, some people (5% of the populationa) get nausea, headache, sore eyes.
Also 120hz refresh rate on regular please.
I’d like Touch ID back and built into the screen. The only thing easier than looking at your phone is putting your thumb or pointer on the screen when you raise it.
Split screen for apps. I don't use it a lot in Android. But it does come in handy sometimes.
Pocket mode. No calling, recording, texting, pausing, fast forwarding, anything until it’s removed from pocket. Maybe by combining the sensing dark of the pocket together with the muffing of the ambient sound.
Notifications sucks.
Sideloading support globally not just Europe.
90hz screen for non pro iPhones
Customization (Why can't I place the icons where I want them on Screen)
Dag and drop files from computer without using iTunes.
Better Battery Life especially on older phones.
Android
They really screwed up the wallpaper function. It used to be so simple. Now it’s a convoluted mess with about an extra 7 steps added. I hate it. Their phones are also super overpriced.
Split screen. Man it’s a pain when you need to get some work done and don’t have your laptop around.
Charge sharing between other phones and devices

Sideloading

Putting app icons wherever

Proper file management

RCS messaging
Double tap Home Screen to lock the same way Samsung does
Actual 120hz display
T9 dialling
An option for speeding up OS animations. My phone feels so slow and it’s mainly due to waiting for every animation to finish.
For example if I’m watching a YouTube video in landscape and turn the phone to portrait it takes so long for the home bar to appear. I expect it to be there and swipe up, but it just ends up scrolling the comments because the bar is sloowwwwly fading into existence.
Someone should really fix their keyboard
Fingerprint to unlock the phone
Ability to change notification sound per app
Customization. While there has been some improvements it is so far behind Android it's really a shame, embarrassing really.
Low price
You should be able to install MacOS onto the iPhone. Let us have our phone computer goddammit.
I wish it had a surface thermometer, one of those laser ones HVAC people use
High Refresh Rate on lower end iPhones and the ability to change the UI back to the iOS 6 generation. Siri is also dumb and I would like Apple to work on it to make it do the bare minimum.
TouchID, headphone jack, and a camera module that doesn’t protrude like a huge, festering scab. Oh wait… You said one thing. 😆
iOS has some serious piss-poor mobile data management capabilities for those with limited cellular plans... and no manually resetting a counter isnt it.
Lower price tag
Adjustable dimmer. Its either %60 black filter or no filter at all. And more surprisingly theres no app for this
Alarm grouping hehe! Toggle them at one by grouping.
A clear cache option for apps would be nice. It’s a bit cumbersome having to reinstall an app because it’s taking up too much space for whatever reason. Like the other day I noticed how discord was taking up over 100gb of space, wtf.
Back button or back vertical gesture like on Samsung
NOTIFICATION BAR!!!
Proper file management.
File Management
Under-display fingerprint sensor
No notch display
Side loading and customization (one can dream)
Thermal camera (one can dream for real)
3D touch was excellent, it should come back
There are still plenty of things that can be added
a harmonious design, like the samsung s-series (apple user btw)
Yes OP!! I just returned the OnePlus Open and it had this functionality baked into OxygenOS (OnePlus version of Android). It was amazing! I don’t understand why Apple hasn’t done this. Maybe cause they believe guided access is good enough to lock someone to one app but it would be nice to be able to lock messages, lock the entire photos app, lock safari, come on Apple it’s not that hard.
After using the Open I wish apple would release a foldable, it would be so sick to be at point using an iPhone then be able to immediately open it up into an iPad mini form factor.
A headphone jack
