A question for ex fitbiters, what do you miss about Fitbit and do you regret moving on to Apple watch and leaving Fitbit behind?

I would make it through a year with my Fitbit device before it broke 💔 It introduced me to sleep tracking

Battery life!!

I miss nothing. Especially Fitbit’s crappy warranty service

[–] deepsleepseeker@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I take a lot of naps and I miss the way my Fitbit Sense was able to track my nap/sleep WITHOUT me having to change it to the sleep focus. I miss that the most.

Otherwise I'm much happier with my Apple Watch. I thought I'd miss the step count but the move makes more sense. But I will say that I miss the Readiness score and Stress score from Fitbit

Switched from Charge 2 to Apple Watch SE literally yesterday. The Apple Watch is great but I already miss the Fitbit’s battery life. I could go 3 days without a charge even on my 5 year old charge 2 but looks like I will be charging my new watch every day. Also miss seeing real time step count and heart rate at a glance.

Things I do like about AW: now playing, notifications, Apple pay, pretty seamless integration with my phone. Hopefully it will last me a good few years.

I miss the battery life. That’s about it though.

I left Fitbit over a year ago and have found some excellent replacements for what it did at the time I left. At this point I’m still pretty damn happy with what I got.

HRV/Recovery: Athlytic

Sleep metrics: Pillow

Honorable Mention: Auto Sleep

I hate the fact I can’t use my Apple Watch to count my total calories burnt without going into the fitness app.

On my Fitbit it was on the main screen and reset at midnight.

To me an Apple Watch is more of a phone on my wrist than a fitness tool.

Only thing I miss is my years of stats with fitbit

[–] BrianDerm@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Fitbit could show me my October total steps, as a great logging method. Or last week, etc. Apple only dies rolling totals.

[–] moranmonov@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I miss the web interface and the windows app.

[–] Kaessa@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Battery life. I miss only needing to charge once a week.

For everything else, I prefer my Apple Watch.

[–] 8_piece_n_biscuits@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I regret nothing. My old Fitbit started collecting sweat under the glass, making it impossible to read the display. It also stopped charging.

For a little better AW experience check out Superset. Beta signups now and should be launching in a month or two https://www.supersethealth.com/?ref_id=EJ58S0ZTV

[–] Sematarium@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

So they want you to pay another subscription, garmin does all of that for free 🤷‍♂️

[–] Active-Drive-7749@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

the display of my fitbit was so bright that i could use the watch at night to find the toilet

[–] sarahshift1@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I liked being able to view totals over a period of time on the Fitbit website. I set a goal to walk 2019 miles in 2019 and could just pull up the site and plug in start date and end date and view my year to date totals of steps, miles, calories, etc. Maybe Apple does this somewhere and I just haven’t found it?

I had a Blaze like 6 years ago, it was pretty lacking in features. Basically the only “apps” that could run were either exercise, timer, meditation, and heart rate

Not a bad watch but def got really slow over time

[–] gedbhoy67@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Having to use MyFitnessPal to track calories.

[–] helplesslyska@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

the app!! having everything in one place with easy to read goals (that can be customized), i know you can use apple health but it is so cheap-looking and not as easy to use.

[–] edgarskates@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Nothing. Apple Watch is superior compared to Fitbit

[–] bcbroon@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I miss nothing about my Fitbit I had two different ones both were fine, but both had the most annoying habit of watchband disconnecting from the case. Just really poor quality build. First one broke when it fell off my arm as I was taking my jacket sleeve off. Second one fell off my arm while walking dog. Didn’t notice and now it’s gone.

I was determined to go without any kind of smart, watch or fitness tracker because I was on android, and I didn’t like the watches that were available. And then one day I’m in the Apple Store and my friend is buying a watch because they like the pace for when they run and I was so taken with the Apple Watch with build quality and with its functions that I switched to the Apple ecosystem just to get the watch, and it was really good decision. I’m even used to the iPhone now.

honestly i just miss the little disco ball and fireworks that popped up when i reached 10,000 steps

[–] maxvikaalex@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Sleep tracking, no other device is as good as Fitbit in sleep tracking.

[–] gilly_girl@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I miss the wildly inflated step counts that made hitting my daily goal a breeze. My daily stats, compared to last year when my Charge 5 was alive, are consistently 2K lower. Fracking AW's making me exercise more.

[–] Aidsfordayz@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Auto Sleep tracking and 7 day battery

[–] elizabeth_thai72@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Battery life. I was able to get 10 days from my charge 5 vs 1 1/2 - 2 days on my series 7. Absolutely no regrets making the switch last year though

[–] vyts18@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago
