It matters to us and that’s all that matters.
NFL
A place for NFL news, game highlights and everything that excites you about American Football.
It will continue to be unappreciated by me, because these are 2 of the teams I have literally less than zero interest in regardless. Yawn
The more notable one? Nah.. that was 28-3 for me buddy lol
In my unpopular opinion NFL rivalries feel fake and forced. Cfb rivalries are much better.
In 2018 sure
Are you sure that’s the most notable falcons super bowl?
Haha I was so appreciative of OP for that one
Agreed, mostly because the saints and falcons are routinely shit on this sub.
I can’t remember what rabbit hole lead me to this, but for QB’s who played at least… I think it was 16(?) games against another team, the most yards per game was Brees vs the Falcons.
Second most was Ryan vs the Saints.
Amazingly enough, of the top 10 such scenarios (passing yards per game against a single team with at least 16(?) games played)…
6 of the top 8 are Brees and Ryan vs the NFC South.
They were dangerous teams on offense for a long time.
I tend to agree… and I’m a little jealous.
Oh, well. At least we’ve had Evans and Lattimore.
It’s not a team rivalry, but those dudes genuinely seem to hate each other.
I love the saints as much as a non fan can (I went to the dome reopening, and have been to several other games), but no. Those two teams haven’t been good at the same time long enough to make the games interesting.
Brees and Ryan had some good shootouts against each other in the early 20teens.
Jon Bois said it best. They are the NFL's Beavis and Butthead.
I love your fandom and love of the game and this rivalry. But is it really any mystery why this rivalry is underappreciated? It's because they're both habitually, if more often than not, AWFUL. As a fan of neither team, it's not fun to be held hostage by local networks and forced to watch awful, no matter how long or how storied the rivalry. That said, good luck today.
Fell to me knees in the Waffle House parking lot when I saw that r/nfl doesn’t care about today’s Dennis Allen Arthur Smith Chess Match
Yep agreed
the more notable one of course being their appearance in the 1998 when the 14-2 Falcons would fall to the John Elway led broncos.
Lol
I used to be a Falcons fan. "Fuck the Aint's" is a saying for a reason.
Between 1967 and 1999, the Falcons had a total record of 198-295-5, the Saints had a record of 192-301-5 in that same span.
You're goddamn right. What I take away from this post is that we're better than you.
