Anarchism is a social movement that seeks liberation from oppressive systems of control including but not limited to the state, capitalism, racism, sexism, speciesism, and religion. Anarchists advocate a self-managed, classless, stateless society without borders, bosses, or rulers where everyone takes collective responsibility for the health and prosperity of themselves and the environment.

On this day in 1911, the Japanese government executed twelve anarchists, including radical journalists Kanno Sugako and Kōtoku Shūsui (shown), as part of a widespread crackdown on left-wing activism. Among those executed were Uchiyama Gudō, a Buddhist priest and socialist who spoke out against the Meiji government for its imperialism and advocated for conscripted soldiers to desert en masse.

The pretext for this crackdown was the "High Treason Incident", a plot to assassinate the Emperor of Japan. The incident began when police searched the room of Miyashita Takichi, a young lumbermill employee, and found materials which could be used to construct bombs, concluding that there was a broader conspiracy to harm the imperial family.

On the basis of this plot, the Japanese government rounded up leftist activists from all over the country. 24 of the 26 defendants actually brought to trial were sentenced to death, despite the evidence against nearly all of them being circumstantial.

Among those executed anarcha-feminist journalist Kanno Sugako (some sources say she was executed on January 25th). At the age of 29, Kanno became the first woman with the status of political prisoner to be executed in the history of modern Japan.

Prior to his execution, Kōtoku Shūsui etched this message on the wall of his cell: "How has it come about that I have committed this grave crime? Today my trial is hidden from outside observers and I have even less liberty than previously to speak about these events. Perhaps in 100 years someone will speak out about them on my behalf."

A terrible signal
Too weak to even recognize
A gentle collapsing
The removal of the insides

I'm touched by your pleas
I value these moments
We're order than we realize
...in someone's eyes

A frequent returning
And leaving unnoticed
A condition of mercy
A change in the weather

A view to remember
The center is missing
They question how the future lies
...in someone's eyes
The gentle collapsing
Of every surface
We travel on the quiet road
...the overload

Learning about the ARkStorm

Over the course of 30 days, these storms bring phenomenal amounts of precipitation. In ARkHist, much of the Sierra Nevada sees 40-55 inches of liquid equivalent (with a maximum of about 85 inches!); the Coast Ranges generally see 25-35 inches; and the Central Valley 10-25 inches; and Southern California anywhere from 15-25 inches along the coast to 25-35 inches in the Transverse Ranges. In ARkFuture, precipitation accumulations are even higher: much of the Sierra Nevada sees 55-70 inches of liquid equivalent (with a maximum of about 126 inches!!); the Coast Ranges generally see 30-45 inches; and the Central Valley 15-35 inches; and Southern California anywhere from 20-35 inches along the coast to 40-55 inches in the Transverse Ranges.

I know everywhere is going to get screwed up by climate change, but I feel that California really underestimates what I fear is going to happen in the next couple of decades.

Online discourse right now: palworld palworld palworld

Me: I wonder which pokemon mod I should get for minecraft. Deciding between pixelmon/cobblemon, I know they do different things. Probably will get the latter since I heard the former radically alters core Minecraft gameplay while the latter is more of a "traditional" mod I can use with other mods.

I want to start doing livestreams but instead of blogging or playing a videogame it's just me scrolling through eBay trying to find old Looney Tunes memorabilia I want to buy. Stream sniping is what we'll call it when I try to buy something but someone buys it before I can.

So apparently China is doing a Hecking Censorship^TM^ by snubbing LGBTQ writers and those critical of the PRC in the latest Hugo Awards nominations. Anybody have a source for this that isn’t blatant Anglo hate-mongering?

Turns out Russians haven’t perfected drinking vodka yet. They are very close, but not there just nyet :Kelly:

There should be vapes on the little board with pickles and black bread.

Sometimes a little vaporized something something is just the chaser the burn was asking for.

My disciples.. i am growing weak

a terrible poison runs through my veins, and in short time will strike me down.

you must find me the address of Ulf Mark Schneider, he is a German-American businessman, and the CEO of Nestlé. He must pay for his crimes through the "NATURE'S BOUNTY" product line

not the most substantive complaint towards Killers of the Flower Moon but did anyone else notice a complete lack of black people besides a newsreel about the tulsa race riot? i can't find any reason these towns, also in oklahoma would've been so totally segregated. i think they even mentioned a worker in the town with a rare slur, but they didn't show them on screen. like i'm sorry dude you're taking 3 fucking hours for a movie about racists, use the imagery of tulsa & kkk terror, i don't think an excuse like 'only wanting to focus on the osage' flies.

but ya know maybe we don't actually want to hear scorsese address jim crow, his casts before this one movie sure are pale

Is this a potential red flag

My therapist recognizes the fact that the patriarchy exists and is bad for everyone. He also recognizes the value of grassroots and community building. OK, good start 👍

Now he’s suggesting that I recognize my thoughts and frame them in a “stoic” way by only focusing on the present moment and what I can control 🤮

Correct me if I’m wrong, but is this not the reddest of flags? Or is this where I just agree to disagree with shitty beliefs
