Plasma 6 Bugs

If you encounter a bug, proceed to https://bugs.kde.org/, check whether it has been reported.

If it hasn't, report it yourself.

PLEASE THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE POSTING HERE.

Developers do not look for reports on social media, so they will not see it and all it does is clutter up the feed.

Plasma 6.4 is out and it's' more welcoming than ever!

https://kde.org/announcements/plasma/6/6.4.0/

Check out the tweaked tiling that lets you have different layouts for every virtual desktop; the overhauled Spectacle that makes capturing your desktop faster; how KRunner now understands color; and in general the literally dozens of other fixes and features that make Plasma friendlier and easier to use.

Yo KDE folks

I’m a huge Plasma fan and been messing around with plasmoid dev for a while now. But maaaan, you ever feel like you're doing the same boring setup/build/package dance over and over, instead of actually building cool stuff? Yeah... same here.

So I built a little something to fix that: Prasmoid, a CLI tool that helps you skip the annoying parts and just vibe with the code.

What it does:

  • prasmoid init → Sets up a new plasmoid project from scratch. Just answer a few prompts, and boom, your folder's ready. No boilerplate hustle.
  • prasmoid preview --watch → Opens your plasmoid in a preview window, auto-restarts it when you save. (Yup, full restart, not internal hot reload… yet)
  • prasmoid i18n → Handles translation stuff: .pot/.po file gen, .mo compilation, it's got your back.
  • prasmoid build → Packs your project into a .plasmoid file, ready to ship.
  • prasmoid format → Cleans up your QML files so you don’t have to stare at messy whitespace.
  • prasmoid changeset → Helps manage versions + changelogs without manually doing it all.

Bonus: Custom commands with JS

Prasmoid has its own JavaScript runtime baked in (built using Goja in Go), so you can write project-specific commands in JS. It’s like Node.js scripts, but you don’t even need Node installed. Fully self-contained.

Honestly, I built this to scratch my own itch, but it ended up saving me a ton of time. Now I’m just hoping it helps other Plasma devs too.

It’s open source, and I’d love your feedback, whether you try it, toss in some ideas, or feel like contributing. You’re welcome either way!

Let me know what you think!

If you’re into plasmoid dev, this might save you a lot of headache. 😄

How can I login automatically on Fedora 42 KDE 6.4.3?
Some websites say about going to settings/startup shutdown... but I don't seem to have those settings at all?

I only have the automatic start settings to start programs and the session settings, nothing else about it.

And yes, it's the only account and supposed to be administrator, also it's a fresh install.

How to get KDEConnect working in desktop browsers who support WebExtension:

Install External Application Launcher + Native Client (the latter is on the AUR)

Just select /usr/bin/kdeconnect-handler as the application, [HREF] as arguments and enable it for link as well as tab context.

The handler will open a popup where you can select the target device

I need dates! Here in the pic an example on how I enjoy and order my digital collection. (I have a more detail date when I'm playing the album but for general view the only og year is enough) Also, I've noticed Elisa didn't order correctly albums in the same year, it probably ignore months? MusicBrainz tags have an "original date" field for this cases.

PS. I usually use Quod Libet

Hello, I received a GPU to replace my GTX 1080. It is an RX 9060 XT pulse, when i tried to install it it didn't work on an Ubuntu version with plasma added later. I did install kubuntu 25.04 because I thought that the issue was with the OS. Though it didn't worked unfortunately, I tried to update the kernel to 6.15 and update mesa drivers. What is weird is that I tried multiple commands and I got it working multiple times, though it didn't stuck, it seems like the AMD GPU drivers is not running. Does anyone have a similar issue ? I'm about to reinstall windows to check if it's not the graphic card that is wrong but it's me. Thank you for your time and your help, Have a nice day

I installed the Akregator rss reader with the idea of filtering feeds (I don't want to see myself in a feed source I regularly contribute to) but the section responsible for this in the settings in missing ( https://docs.kde.org/stable5/en/akregator/akregator/adblock-tab.html vs screenshot attached ). There is also a page for installing plugins that doesn't do anything (I cant see, search or install anything). Any idea on what could be the issue ? (Do I need Konquorer installed ? ) (Running the latest version on Arch)

This is a repost from kde reddit (The auto mod bot told me to repost it here)
