Growing up in the drift and fast road scene, I never knew anyone with a running AW11 MR2. One of my friends had an engineless one, a donor for the (always problematic, likely due to mileage, age, lack of skills, and usage case) 4A-GZE in his drift Corolla.

That said, they always interested me; so I’ll share my interest here.

Light-ish. Revvy. Small. All things I commend and enjoy. Maybe I can find someone who will let me drive one, and hopefully it will be stock and part-refreshed.

Whip out your crystal ball folks. What do you think will be looked back on with nothing but fondness or is criminally undervalued right now.

Any budget is okay though no obvious ones. Like the holy trinity of T.50. People know their icons and classics already.

Personal guess is single clutch automated manuals will be seen as “analogue” and “raw” in a decade.
