I recently bought an ND2 miata, which I see touted often as one of the best cars for "slow car fast" driving. I heard so many people say things like "you can drive it at the limit without getting in trouble." Now that I have it though, I haven't really found that to be the case. Most of the fun twisty roads around here have a 35mph speed limit, and this car can take all but the sharpest turns at speeds high enough to get a ticket. If I didn't care about losing my license or hurting someone (which I do) I could easily do double the speed limit if not close to 100mph on some of the straight parts.

And this is with a Miata, which is pretty much the slowest car on the market in the US that you can get away with calling a sports car. Which leaves me wondering, how the hell are people enjoying cars like Z06s or 911s on public roads?

Let's be realistic here, the overwhelming majority of people are not taking these cars to race tracks. So how are you enjoying them? In 3-second intervals a few times a week on highway onramps? Is it not torture driving such a capable vehicle at 4/10 all the time? Or do you just accept that you'll probably get your car impounded and spend the night in jail at least once?

From tools and spare parts, to cosmetics like tissue and sanitizer, to an extra outfit or change of clothes... what "essentials" do you like to keep in your car?

What is the motivation of a dealer/manufacturer to do this? Decades ago I know owners selling old cars might try to get away with this, but what's the advantage for Tesla?

I’ve noticed as I reddit car content more lately that a lot of us that own more than 1 car, own the same “groups” of cars.

Do you see common trends in your sect of the country/world/car communities?

ie: 911 / cayman / Macan - p car customers in NorCal
