Rough to hear this from one of the consultants. Operation health really was kind of a bust. They promised to work on tunneling and slugging, along with QoL and bugfixes instead of new content. Instead we've got no new content and they changed pallet density and loops. I feel like every creator has their own pet bug that never goes away. Otz is Knight's getting stunned while laying a trail. Slate hates Ghost face's camera disappearing during the mori. Puffalope hates the Deathslinger aim animation being broken for survivors. Creators shouldn't have to choose a bug from your game to adopt as their hobby horse BHVR

Killers this good are a mixed bag to play against. You'll probably get absolutely shit on and that feels bad, but sometimes you have to sit back and just marvel at the skill displayed

We've all seen the joke names and players who have found ways to express their thirst in game. The DBD community are freaks and I love them for it

During 2v8 I was playing some trapper and I had an absolutely incredible game with my duo as Wesker. It was on Autohaven and we had a slow start which is practically a necessity on Trapper, but in the mid and late game all the work building a trap network started to pay dividends. We had 3 survivors hit traps within 10 seconds at one point and were around to get the hooks too. I felt like I was in the zone, being very efficient and nailing the placements on the first shot. I was thinking about where survivors would be entering loops from and where to put traps so they wouldn't see it until it was too late. I didn't do amazing in chase, but my traps helped my duo out a bunch and I had a great time. I was unbothered. Moisturized. Happy. In My Lane. Focused. Flourishing. It felt like one of the best Trapper games I've ever played.

That started me wondering about what exactly in that game made it so satisfying. What part of the power fantasy of the killer was delivering? I think for me it is the planning and foresight that gets me with trapper. The closer a chase gets to what I imagined setting the trap, the more joy I get when the jaws snap shut. The same goes for the Artist on a shorter scale. Every loop is a little puzzle where the right combination of bird placement and your placement can get you an injury. So what is the draw of your killer? What does the best game you could have with them look like?

Cru5hh is a talented player, probably best known for his silly looping videos and hijinks, but who also has a good deal of competitive DBD experience. This is a very in depth guide to a lot of the concepts that will help you get over the new player hump and start being able to hold your own against experienced players
