Hey Everyone,

I'm developer of Seek Privacy, a week ago has published it on Fdroid it's in last step of being merged.

The app could feel like vault app but the purpose to build it was not to secure, hide, encrypt files but to protect any type of files from apps with storage access.

Like we download many apps from playstore with internet access, to function they require different storage access permissions, we could ignore few but apps we need to use we have to give those permissions, I always felt insecure what these internet connected apps on playstore could be doing I not wanted to just trust. So I needed to let them have all files permission so I could use them, but still they never get to touch specific files on storage but I could still access these files normally.

The app is diff from other vault like apps, cause I tried to implement ease of use alongside privacy, which I felt I lacked in other foss apps. So data is removed from external storage and encrypted, but we still could easily access, open, share it using the SeekPrivacy app.

New updates will include categorization for ease and thumbnail to view the stored file.

Any feedback on the concept is welcome! Excited to contribute to FOSS community.

Recent updates have made PhoneLink very slow, unrelaible and resource eater.

I have 2 phones and i mainly used phonelink for clipboard sync.

I have found these 2 apps. Has anybody tried them and are they more reliable than Ms phonelink?

If you know any other app let me know. Thanks.

I've added User Flairs to the subreddit! You can now choose between User, for people who just use apps, Developer, if you develop apps, Project Sponsor, if you contribute financially to app development, and Activist, if you support FOSS by advocating for it publicly.

I've asked and I shall provide: We need to fix the wiki. There's a lot of common reposts here. What do you see often that you'd like to see a wiki page on?

If you didn't know before, you can visit the wiki at https://fossdroid.org/.

PassVault, an open-source, offline password manager. I posted here a few weeks ago, and thanks to your feedbacks.

I've just released v0.8.0-beta01.

What's new in this update:

  • Argon2 Encryption: Switched to stronger encryption standards for better security.
  • Performance: Moved database operations to background threads (no more UI stutters).

Why use it?

  • Completely Offline (No internet permission)

For my PC I use LibreOffice Writer in Linux. I need something for Android. If there's several options I'll probably try them all.

About a year ago, I built textbee.dev, a free and open-source sms gateway that runs on android. I originally made it for myself, then decided to open-source it… and somehow it blew up.

today it has 15k+ users on the cloud-hosted version and has crossed 2,000+ stars on github, which still feels unreal.

Here’s what it does:

• send sms via API or dashboard: for OTPs, 2FA, alerts, CRM workflows, e-commerce updates, or any custom app integration.

• Track sms status(sent/delivered/failed) with webhook notifications.

• Batch and bulk sms: send large volumes through the API, or upload a CSV and personalize each message using templates.

• receive sms: view incoming messages in the dashboard, fetch them through the API or get them delivered to your webhook endpoint.

• Free and open-source: You can self-host on your own device for free, or use the cloud-hosted version if you want something ready to go.

This project has been growing fast, and I’d love your feedback, ideas, or feature requests as it continues to evolve. contributions are also welcome.

Hello, I'm looking for a new note app but can't seem to find one that meet what i'm looking

Basicaly I'm searching for :

  • as easy and fast as Google Keep
  • works offline on the phone and syncs when you're connected
  • crossplatform with an android app and a website
  • possibility to pin some notes so that they appear at the top of the list

Do you know something that meet all these criteria ? Thanks !

Recently i discovered right apps by goodwy (https://github.com/Goodwy), until now i've been using fossify apps for dialer, gallery, recorder, file manager etc as they're widely suggested as privacy friendly apps. I find right apps to be more polished UI wise and feature rich, but they aren't on fdroid (only on aurora store) and don't seem to be as popular as fossify. Are they 100% privacy friendly ? and should i replace fossify apps with right apps ?

It's looks like Google is moving on to limit downloading Android apps, starting "early access developer verification program for devs"
