I finally took the plunge into Guild Wars 2 a couple weeks ago, coming in as someone who’s mostly lived in Soulsborne worlds and story-heavy RPGs. I didn’t expect to connect with it so fast… but here we are.

What pulled me in: • The personal story. I play a human guardian who grew up on the streets and never knew her parents. I didn’t think I’d get emotional over an MMO origin story, but here we are. • The sense of scale in the world. Walking through Divinity’s Reach for the first time literally made me stop and take it all in. • Dynamic events. I wandered into a centaur attack without realizing it wasn’t just ambient flavor—it was happening.

I stream my journey a few times a week and love seeing veterans drop in to share lore or nudge me in the right direction (without spoilers). Honestly, it’s been one of the most welcoming communities I’ve joined.

This is perhaps the funniest side effect that I have experienced so far on my new meds. While yes, it is wonderful to be able to do dishes, read up on interesting subjects, remember to pay my bills ahead of time and all of that.

But inventory. In Guild Wars 2. Has been a nightmare.

Until now!

Items I never threw away because "they're exotic gear" is GONE. Useless ascended gear? Stat swapped and equipped. Boxes of gear have been opened and equipped where relevant; Equipment templates actually used (and not half-assed, either). So much useless gunk thrown away. So much salvaged stuff.

And now... So much space. Empty squares galore.

We played HoT, we know what happens there. After all that, what happened to the Nightmare Court? We also know the inquest did some experiments on Sylvari when they were just waking up for the first time. Any chance we can see a return to the Sylvari-Inquest plot line here? Maybe a return of that “other tree”? Have I had too many Grove mushrooms?

Hi! I'm returning to the game after a very long break (basically played on release and have sporadically come back for a few days since) and have been actually taking a character (my Sylvari Guardian) through the full story for the first time and I've really been enjoying it so much!! I'm looking forward to making alts as well (I have some made and ready to boost as we speak since I have 3 lvl boosts from expansions I bought, although I'm not sure if i would want to do that or just level organically yet) and I'm looking forward to going through all the expansion stories when I hit lvl 80, working through my elite specs, and overall start gearing up and trying group content!! All in all I'm just having fun and wanted to tell someone~

Elementalist was my first profession, and the one I consider my main... most of the time. But from time to time I wander to an alt and they become my "main" until something brings me back to Ele. (Usually story stuff. Since Ele is my first character I like to first time story on him.) And when new Elite specs come out, that usually draws people to a new playstyle on a different profession (either temporarily or permanently). So I was wondering how many people, or even how often, members of this community have changed their mains?

Like I said, Ele is still my first. But I also try to keep my Mesmer and my Engineer in line with him. So when I finish a story chapter as him first time, I'll go to one of them and finish it on them (especially if there's unique or different dialogue options). Out of the two, I consider Engineer closest to my 2nd main. My Mesmer is mainly for more comfortable gameplay (staff+staff condi Mirage). My Engineer I play with different builds a lot more, though I tend to prefer Scrapper.

For a while now (I would say since the start of summer, but maybe it started before), every Instagram posts from GW2 is filled with comments asking to add a Br-Portuguese translation to the game.

Was there something that suddenly made the game really popular in Brazil? A streamer maybe?

I don't mind it, just really curious about it! The more players having a good access to the game, the better! ArenaNet should probably make a public announcement about whether or not they plan to add that translation (I'm sure it's a LOT of work and quality control to add a whole new language to 13 years of content).
