Anyone else using MDM with Intune? This is the Microsoft Company Portal on iOS. It offers customized branding, featured apps, categories, and descriptions to explain how your company uses the app.

The Company Portal also manages enrollment, either with or without Apple’s Automated Device Enrollment (ADE/DEP). With ADE, you can remove the AppStore and replace it with your company’s apps, creating a custom AppStore. You can also mix the two, for example, purchasing and managing AppStore licenses from Apple VPP and assigning VPP apps to Intune.

This allows you to buy iPhones and iPads for employees and field techs, or have employees bring their own devices (BYOD) and download the Company Portal app from the AppStore for access to company resources while keeping device ownership.

Keeping an eye out for what’s new in Intune development is always a smart thing to do. This time something got my attention.

ConfigRefresh was added to the in-development and is only available for Windows Insiders! It mentions the fact that this feature will let you set a cadence (time frame) for Windows devices to reapply previously received policy settings, WITHOUT requiring devices to check-in to Intune.
