Starting December 22, 2025, Fleet will no longer be available for download. We are now building a new product focused on agentic development.

@jetbrains I really want to share this cool update news re: RustRover, my daily driver IDE, but your social options are a bit lacking. There's also no universal share button... some people just want a link, you know ;)

I really enjoyed chatting with Tobias Macey recently for an episode of his AI Engineering Podcast. We talked about how get the most out of current AI agents, creating agent rules, constraining the blast radius, local models, and how @jetbrains is thinking about all these factors while working on its own AI agent, Junie.

We also touched upon the recent @django Django Developers Survey 2025 results that just came out.

Awesome...
#FrankenPhp :frankenphp: in the @jetbrains's « State of #PHP »

And just like @brendt, @dunglas's "monster" definitely is one of my favorite highlights this year (right after the new PIPE operator -- 😜 )

More #PHP stats here:

@jetbrains I know they don't support "Gnome" and provide the linux version "As this" since we can really mess with everything and support would be a nightmare...

But having 2 monitors with a different "scale" option make every JetBrains IDEs unusable. Aw.

Highly disapointed by @jetbrains who adopt an Opt-out model for data sharing.

I’m pretty sure one day a “bug” will re-enable the option, someone will forget to turn back the option because it’s a new setup.

Consent is to have the agreement a no become a yes. Not the opposite.

I got to this from an email with the pretentiously more informative subject line “The data sharing model for your non-commercial license is changing.”

TL;DR:

  • they will collect basically all IDE actions and code snippets
  • opt-out for free licenses
  • opt-in at admin level for organizations

There's a short (~7 mins) documentary up now on PyCharm's origins. It just turned 15 this year, even though it feels in some ways like it's been around forever.

I work here and I still learned a few things about PyCharm I didn't know before.

How to enjoy editing with #WebStorm again

"Go to File Settings, then Editor > General > Inline completion, and then disable "Enable local Full Line completion suggestions." - what a relish

This 'intelligent' code completion completes wrong in 99% of all cases and I have to delete/change half of the completed. What is this good for?
