I believe that this chapter takes us through the end of chapter 2 of the fifth light novel. A more serious chapter this time, but of course, whenever Shadow shows up things get overly dramatic and very silly at the same time.

We are blessed with an additional epilogue chapter for this series that was struck down all too soon. The difference between how the village girls viewed the guys and how Mia saw them was great. I will miss this series.

This almost feels like a flashback since it is so similar to Stark's previous birthday chapter. I really want to know what gift Frieren had originally picked out. Maybe the box is a baby mimic?

Looks like the last couple chapters were 505 backstory. We also got to learn a bit more about 303 and their brother. I am really curious what the promise was that 505 wrote down in their gift to 303.

This chapter ends Volume 1 and they have even translated some of the volume extras with world building information in them.

It seems like Ange's secret might be known to the state now, so it will be interesting to see where things go. I had originally thought this was an interesting, post-apocalyptic travel series, but now we are getting more drama.

One I just stumbled across that's intrigued me. It's an interesting sort of mystery built around the contrast between the rollercoaster ride of adolescence and the slower, more aware pace of adulthood. They're remembering and sorting out things that happened to them in high school, but it's almost as if their high school selves were different people, so in a sense, they're trying to remember/sort out the things that these other people did.

And apparently it's going to segue into romance, but that seems to still be a way off...
