According to Binance, the funds received in the account were exchanged from Monero back into Bitcoins. According to the KRP report, most of the funds were again transferred onwards, this time in two different directions.

Binancen mukaan tilille tulleet varat vaihdettiin Moneroista takaisin Bitcoineiksi. KRP:n selvityksen mukaan suurin osa niistä siirrettiin jälleen eteenpäin, tällä kertaa kahteen eri suuntaan.

Another path followed by the KRP led police from Binance to an online service that promises to exchange virtual currency for cash instantly.

Toinen KRP:n seuraamista poluista johti poliisin Binancesta erääseen verkossa toimivaan palveluun, joka lupaa vaihtaa virtuaalivaluuttaa rahaksi välittömästi.

The dates of the transfers also coincided perfectly with the payments traced by the KRP.

Siirtojen ajankohdat myös menivät täydellisesti yksiin KRP:n jäljittämien maksujen kanssa.

Just a little post to discuss about it

+25% in a matter of hours, pretty nice

It seems that the project has been archived. I found a fork that is 19 commits ahead but it doesn't seem very active.

is it safe to use the old version? should i use the fork? are their alternatives that i should be using instead?

My goal is to be able to query and interact with the blockchain in a pythonic way.

This would only make the blockchain more resistant, 51% attacks practically impossible, Firo for example has implemented this, what would be the disadvantage?

Celebrating Monero’s Birthday with some Cake7 (MT 348)

TODAY'S 🎙SHOW:Douglas Tuman and Seth from Cake Wallet discussing Monero's 11th birthday and recent developments in the Cake Wallet ecosystem. Seth discussed several major updates to Cake Wallet, including background sync for Monero which allows wallets to stay synchronized automatically, and the implementation of a unified 12-word seed phrase system for all supported cryptocurrencies. The conversation covered the upcoming FCMP (Full Chain Membership Proofs) implementation in Monero, with Seth estimating a timeline of 6-9 months for full deployment. Seth shared insights about Cake Wallet's integration with the Open Crypto Pay system, enabling seamless point-of-sale transactions in Switzerland. He also discussed the importance of maintaining a symbiotic relationship between Monero and other cryptocurrencies, particularly Bitcoin and Litecoin, as they serve as valuable on-ramps to Monero. The discussion concluded with Seth emphasizing the need for the Monero community to focus on improving user experience without compromising privacy, and to be more open to integration with existing cryptocurrency infrastructure like BTC Pay Server.

I’m having trouble installing v1.0.19 on Tails. This is the command I’m using. Can anyone figure out what I’m doing wrong? It keeps saying “Failed to download Haveno binary”.

What's Changed

New Contributors

Full Changelog: 1.0.18...v1.0.19

Verification

The provided hashes can be used to verify the JAR file inside the binary, NOT the Haveno installer:

  • You can verify on Linux the jar file with:
sha256sum [PATH TO HAVENO APP]/lib/app/desktop-1.0.19-SNAPSHOT-all.jar\

The output need to match the value from the haveno-v1.0.19-linux-x86_64-SNAPSHOT-all.jar.SHA-256 file.

  • You can verify on OSX the jar file with:
shasum -a256 [PATH TO HAVENO APP]/Haveno.app/Contents/app/desktop-1.0.19-SNAPSHOT-all.jar\

The output need to match the value from the haveno-v1.0.19-macos-SNAPSHOT-all.jar.SHA-256 file.

If you want to reproduce and verify the hash of the jar file locally, you need to do so on Windows or Linux using Java 21.0.6+7.0.LTS (Adopt-Hotspot) from https://github.com/adoptium/temurin21-binaries/releases and the v1.0.19 release tag. Because of the signing and notarization process that requires the developer certificate used for the build on macOS it is not possible to create the same jar on macOS.

Can this really be done? I had always thought that the inability to transact quickly offline would severely hinder usability and thus adoption, but if Monero transactions were as easy as using GPS, then the future looks bright.

You wouldn't really be transacting offline, just that you'd always be online.

Very cool, exciting to see.

Darknet Market Maximalism with Anti Moonboy creator Xenu (MT 347)

TODAY'S 🎙SHOW: Douglas Tuman talks with xenu of The Anti-Moonboy channel. xenu shares his experience launching the Anti Moonboy channel and his series 'Attack of the Poison Outputs', which has grown to 30 episodes focusing on Monero privacy and security analysis. xenu details his entry into cryptocurrency through sports betting in 2016, initially using Bitcoin before discovering Monero. The discussion covers the current state of cryptocurrency markets, with xenu expressing skepticism about widespread adoption while emphasizing the importance of actual usage over price speculation. The conversation then shifts to dark market adoption of Monero, with xenu revealing statistics about Archetype, a Monero-only market with over 600,000 users. They discussed the evolution of cryptocurrency usage in dark markets, noting that four of the six most reputable markets are Monero-only, with the remaining two supporting both Monero and Bitcoin. They also cover technical aspects of Monero, including the upcoming full chain membership proofs update and potential future improvements to the protocol.

Hi guys! I have a question, which of these three protocols would be the best? Comparing the set of anonymity, quantum protection, protections in general, advantages and disadvantages, complexity of the code and how audited they are/will be by their communities, and final notes + summary.

Protocols: FCMP++, ZK-SNARKs (Halo2) and ZK-STARKs.

Thank you very much! Have a great day/afternoon/evening.

3D Printed Gun Designer Joseph The Parrot on Shaping the Next Steps of True Liberty (MT 346)

TODAY'S 🎙SHOW: In this episode Douglas Tuman has a discussion with 3D gun designer Joseph the Parrot about the intersection of 3D printed guns and cryptocurrency privacy. Joseph explained the origin of his persona and his entry into 3D gun printing through JStark's AR-15 CAD model and the FGC-9 (Fuck Gun Control) project. He described how the FGC-9 was designed to be manufactured with basic tools, outsourcing complex shapes to 3D printers while keeping metal parts simple. The discussion explores the philosophical parallels between Monero and 3D printed guns in fighting state monopolies. He highlighted his gun design improvements over the FGC-9, creating the first fully printable gun using no regulated parts worldwide. They also cover Joseph's upcoming presentation at MoneroKon and the importance of bridging the crypto and gun rights communities.
