The premise – sign up to ‘The Running Man’ gameshow, evade the murderous ‘Hunters’, win cash – remains, but as in the original novel, Wright’s film won’t confine the action to a gameshow set. “One of the things about the book that I loved was the fact that Ben Richards is out in the world on his own, so it’s like the deadliest game of hide and seek,” Wright tells Empire in the Thunderbolts* issue. “It does feel like making a road movie in a lot of ways: a very intense, dangerous road movie,” he adds. “Ben is moving through different environments and meeting different people as he tries to survive 30 days out in the wild.”

Me and two friends had "classic movie nights" for a couple of years before I moved away. We would watch something which is considered a classic and it had to have been released before 2000. We watched only those which none of us three have seen before and we would watch it like once every two months or so. Movies like:

  • M
  • Gone with the Wind
  • The Godfather
  • Taxi Driver
  • Murder on the Orient Express
  • One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
  • Rear Window
  • Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
  • Chinatown
  • Le Grande Bouffe
  • L'Avventura
  • Tengoku to jigoku
  • etc.

It was a ton of fun and we talked about the movie before, what our expectations are and after just generally and each of us would give it a IMDB star rating.

Now sadly my friends live 9 time zones away, so we can't really do that anymore. But I was thinking to try to convince my wife to do this classic movies night with me. Right now she is reluctant because English is her 4rth language and especially older movies are using language differently too, but one day she will give in :D.

Anyway, now that you know the rules, what movies do you think I still missed and should watch?

Launched in 2021, Keanu Reeves co-wrote and co-created a comic series titled BRZRKR, notable for featuring a badass hero made to look like Keanu Reeves himself. The idea, it seems, was always to turn the property into a movie, and that is indeed now happening.

THR reports tonight that Mattson Tomlin (The Batman) is writing the script for Netflix’s live action BRZRKR movie, with Justin Lin (Fast & Furious) coming on board to direct.

Keanu Reeves is starring in the film and producing.

BRZRKR is being described as a “brutally epic saga about an immortal warrior’s 80,000 year fight through the ages. The man known only as ‘B’ (Reeves) is half-mortal and half-god, cursed and compelled to violence… even at the sacrifice of his sanity. But after wandering the earth for centuries, B may have finally found a refuge – working for the U.S. government to fight the battles too violent and too dangerous for anyone else. In exchange, B will be granted the one thing he desires – the truth about his endless blood-soaked existence…and how to end it.”

Published by BOOM! Studios, the mega popular – and ultra-violent – BRZRKR comic book series was written by Keanu Reeves and Matt Kindt, and drawn by Ron Garney.

In addition to the live action movie, an anime series is also in the works. The original comic book series, meanwhile, spawned spinoffs and even a novel written by Reeves.

Got a bit of morbid curiosity about this movie, so this 17 minutes summary with comments seem appealing.

It's kind of crazy how bad that movie is.
