I didn't expect it to take this long for me to get the new text model under control. It's much more intelligent in general, but the repetition and random fixations can get surprisingly bad.

Sorry about that. This is just a heads up that I'm still working on it, and it'll likely remain a bumpy ride for the next couple of months.

Thanks to those who have complained here and on reddit, especially the posts that give concrete examples of issues, and attempted workarounds, etc.

Please do keep posting any issues/discoveries, ideally with share links to give me specific examples that I can test.

Other news:

  • I'm still working on the next image gen update, and am hoping it will improve fine details, text rendering, and overall image quality. It should also be about 2x faster. If all goes well (which, from experience, it won't) I should be able to get that done in the next month or so.

  • For a long time I've been very close to shipping a multiplayer plugin and database plugin. I've actually made multiple 'ready to ship' draft plugins of both, but have been disatisfied with the design and ended up not publishing each time. Using these plugins won't trigger ads on the generator, so I need to be really careful about the overall architecture to ensure the the servers for them are dirt-cheap to run. I also want to make them fun/simple to use of course. Once I get text and images stable, I'm going to focus on these two plugins and finally get them done.

AI Plugins Posts

Here is a FAQ for the AI tools in Perchance.

We would like to ask to refrain from posting here needing help specifically with prompting/achieving certain results with the AI plugins (text-to-image-plugin and ai-text-plugin) e.g. "What is the good prompt for X?", "How to achieve X with Y generator?"

There are guides, tutorials, and resources on the internet that can be applied when prompting in the AI tools in Perchance.

We will still be helping/answering questions about the plugins as long as it is related to building generators with them.

If you need help in prompting, please post on the 'sister' forum at Casual Perchance

It seems that the best practice for using the AI Character Chat is

  1. Turn on long-term memory.
  2. Make backups very often.

I messed up on 2.

I led the character into a conversation which I deleted, but the summaries were already rewritten.

I thought of just copying the summaries from a previous backup, but they are limited to 5 on the most recent chat, while the old backup has 10.

What's frustrating, is that the most recent message (the one before the conversation I deleted), is regenerating fine. If I press the brain icon, the summaries are there, but if I send a new message? Another character entirely...

I've learned my lesson and will do constant backups/forks from now on, but is there any way I can fix this?

EDIT: Also, there's something extremely weird, that may be a bug. On the "cleaned-up" chat, the new message doesn't even read the previous messages... Only the one directly preceding it. I checked with the brain icon.

when entering the channel name, this newfurgen+u:rudbo will be illegal and auto trimmed to newfurgenurudbo. Only via promoting such as #newfurgen+u:rudbo can make this kind of channel.

I flip back and forth between my phone and my laptop, sometimes several times a day. I like to have it on my phone for when I have a few minutes here and there, but when I am at the computer, I much prefer a bigger view and a keyboard. On the phone, it automatically appends a (1) or (2) to the filename if it already exists, on the PC, it just asks if I want to overwrite. This means I'm constantly checking the timestamps on the files (on the phone screen where they are tiny.) I'd much rather have unique names right out of the box.

I mean, an option to just sync the data set to a dropbox or google drive would also be awesome, but I know that's much more work. Just having a "MMHH" added to the filenames would make this just a teeny bit easier.

The AI model seems to have significantly changed how the System character talks and it is becoming slightly annoying for me.

For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, "System" is a "character" in AI Character Chat that serves as a type of narrator or something like that (you can get it to talk by using /sys). In the character creation menu, you actually can change the name and PFP of the System character. I do this to add a "third" character in the chats for greater immersion. Before the change, it worked like a charm. But nowadays, it keeps saying stuff like "System Error" or "System Override" or basically anything with the word "System" in it. No, this is NOT an error, this is just what the AI is making the "System" character say. No matter what the name of the System is, the system character will still say stuff like that. It's not THAT big of an issue however since I can just put "act like a character named (character name)" as the instruction in front of /sys so it acts more in line in how I want it to. But still, this is only a minor inconvenience.

I think Perchance should add a feature where you can edit the System character's writing instructions or even give it a description.

I only found out about AI Character Chat a few days ago, and I've been hooked! I hit the "memory limit" pretty fast though, so I started looking for alternatives, and SillyTavern seemed like the best one.

However, I didn't realize how different the AI would be from Perchance.

So, I'm sorry in advance, if this is a trade secret, but how can I mimic Perchance on SillyTavern? What model, what template, etc.

Perchance works fine, but since I have a somewhat good PC, I wanted to try and see if I could run the same Character Chat as Perchance, but with more memory length.

Hey, I'm using a free AI video generator for some of my YouTube videos, but it's only generating sound and no visuals. Can you please help me fix this issue or suggest other free AI video generators available on perchance.org I'd appreciate it if you could fix or suggest something else. I've also attached the video file that's causing the issue. Thank you.

I thought if we switch the art style select to visual-select, and add meta:image = url in style gen... there will be preview image in the drop down list magically.... but now it's just some bigger buttons : (

12

Add image to text and image to image directly from the generators and and add more details to text to image generators , available model of image gen is too bad in realistic and anime style no clear details add samplers and loras selection also

We have a powerful scratchpad that can assign variable like

CHARA = prompt.....
CHARB = prompt.....

We can also import list type gen like the demo {import:noun} not in code but direct in prompt area.

But that's way too simple and scattered around all places. How do we custom a more complicated list gen like I can do in scratchpad and import it directly in prompt textarea? Even still use custom variable like [CHARA], [CHARB], DESCRIPTION = ? using selectone.? output? $output? ??? I have absolutely no idea.

After checking the tutorial and it's still too hard for me...

I do not know if this is a bug or if it was intended that way, but when using beforeSubmit(e) => - username disappears

Does anyone have any idea how to reliably add specific colors to elements in your image using hex codes? The tutorials don't really mention it, and Google AI's suggestions don't seem reliable as they mostly seem to only add coloring to your prompt output, not the image itself.

Basically, it would be something like:

subject
   {man|woman}

color
   {#8000fb|#F2450B|#78452F}

clothing
   {shirt|pants}

prompt
   a [subject] wearing a [color] [clothing]

Thanks in advance for any help!

OK, so I've been having a great time playing with the image generator, and am struggling with a process to permanently add variables.

I can build a bunch of variables in Scratchpad using lists and curly brackets, and then use them in my prompts to create some variation. A simple example is to use a list of shirt colors, call a variable like [HUE1] and change my subject's outfit. That works great. I've gotten dynamic odds to work, and been able to make some dependent sub-choices (i.e., if HUE1 is white, then HUE2 must not be white). This is all great, but it is all in scratchpad.

I'm hung up on how to move those same lists and variables into my generator itself (out of the scratchpad), then call them with a variable in the prompt. In the example above, in Scratchpad I might have

HUE1 = {CHARCOAL GREY|WHITE|CRIMSON|EMERALD}

and then use [HUE1] in the prompt to get a bunch of similar images with different color shirts.

I'm struggling to understand where (and with what syntax) I can move all of that into the code of the generator itself, and still either call [HUE1] when writing my prompt or use a dropdown list or something to select a value and assign it to the variable.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hi. I'm new to making generators on Perchance and I was trying to edit my text to make it larger, but everytime I do it comes up with an error. I have been using the ones on the plugin page cause I don't know how to make my own and I've been following all the instructions yet it still doesn't work. Can anyone help me with this?

I don't mean to come across as ungrateful, because I love perchance and it's owner is awesome for providing this service.

But my GOD is it insufferable sometimes.

"What did you just say?" Knuckles whitening-the scent of bla bla bla suddenly turning rancid She says before turning into the dawn abyss

And it just refuses to stop talking in weird allegories. Like I don't mean to vent but I just do not see any way it is better than the previous AI chat model at all. Hopefully there is a way to improve this in the future.

Hi All, Just a curious question, is there a pre-set log or interna list of character names as i keep getting the same ones when using random character generations. Mostly "Lilly" , "Lux", "Kai"..

tl;dr - I want scratchpad variables input by users to work across multiple input boxes, can I do that?

Hey all, I was hoping someone might have already solved the puzzle I am working on. I am working on my T2I generator, and would like to split the positive prompt into multiple inputs. I can do this and make it work, but variables used in the Sratchpad will only work in the primary "description" input field. I assume this is hard-coded into the t2i plugin, but cant find a reference somewhere to how the scratchpad is coded. Any help is appreciated!

Does anyone know of a method, or browser, that allows increasing the 5MB localstorage limit or quota?

I am trying to code a random encounter generator for a DnD campaign and am having a great deal of trouble. I don't know how to code and have been trying to parse my syntax for three hours over what I thought would be a relatively simple task.

My goal is to have a list of [ruins], with nested subtables of encounters, characters, treasure, etc. Example would be that there is a ruin called "Ancient Archives". The generator pulls that name, and then automatically pulls from an "encounter" list specifically tailored for "Ancient Archives". And then also pulls from a friendlies/rivals list, treasure list, and "Complication list" that are tailored to Ancient Archives.

If the [ruins] selected was instead "Birthing Cyst", the encounter, friendlies, and treasure sublist would be different, and tailored to "birthing cyst" instead of "Ancient Archives"

can anyone help me out with the way to format/syntax this??

To start, I don't have a computer.

Well, perchance.org is going down towards its downfall. They just switched their model unecessarily to one who glitches and stays out of character.

I liked the fact I didn't need to login and didn't have anyone read my chats, unlike character.ai and others.

Which AI Roleplay alternatives are you guys using?

I use duck.ai sometimes, but I wanted to hear your suggestions.

I'm not sure if this is a bug so forgive me if it's not. But about two weeks ago suddenly all my characters have become cruel and lazy tropes. All male characters are aggressive dominants and all female characters are passive submissive. I have taken other peoples suggestions about removing anything from bio's or instructions that could be used for this. I've overcorrected with so much 'affectionate' examples it's crazy and it STILL doesn't stop it. It obsesses over making characters depressed, insecure even when I have removed all of that as well. I'm hoping it's a bug because it started abruptly for me and other people I know? Just thought I'd let the dev know if they see this. Thank you for all your hard work!
