I suggest you all give some of these a look-see.

If you're an abolitionist, it's a good article to read.

We have to have a peace movement again, I feel.

Seems a close-associate of Sheldon Adelson might head the operation of whatever this is, according to an Al Jazeera investigation.

But it should not be up to a foreign television program to investigate secret Israeli intelligence and covert operations in the US, along with their clandestine American funders. That is what the FBI is paid to do. And rather than drag university presidents up to Capitol Hill for a replay of the Red Scare/HUAC hearings, it’s time for the White House and Congress to at last rip the cover off Israel’s vast network of spies, collaborators, and funders in this country. Even if it means giving up millions in donations and political support from AIPAC—the key reason Israel remains immune from any investigation.

Give the article a look-see or a skim-through or whatever, at least; it's worth the read.

DeWine, a Republican, announced his veto at a news conference on Friday morning. He said he visited several children's hospitals and spoke with parents and transgender children to help inform his decision.

"Parents have looked me in the eye and have told me, that but for this treatment, their child would be dead," DeWine told reporters. "Ultimately I think this is about protecting human life."

Good video, from what I can tell.

Only 13 minutes or so.

Maybe watch in picture mode while doing other things.

Your thoughts?

I posted about the axing the EV car subsidy about 2 weeks ago so here's a fun update; many car brands have started to just go "eh whatever we'll reduce the price accordingly either in full or at least partially" and that is of course very nice of them to do and also has 0 other implications and is best not to think about both in terms of what this means for the economic model or how these subsidies work out

Given the political climate in germany where not subsidizing cars is not an option I am now an advocate for just transferring tax money directly to car manufacturers. If we're gonna do it anyways, I feel like at least we should save on the bureaucratic overhead of paying it out to thousands of individuals after means testing their car purchase

I am a good person as long as I sometimes make vague feel-good statements and watch a Netflix documentary about problems with the US criminal justice system. My actions are completely disconnected from my morals and my character, it is the vague gestures that actually define me. And if left-wingers point at my actions, then they are actually the bad people, because I can see them being personally mean to me right now.

U.S. Is Entirely to Blame for Bloodbath in Gaza Strip

Pyongyang, December 27 (KCNA) -- Gaza Strip has been reduced to ruins and more than 20 000 Palestinians killed by Israeli aggressors' brutal bombardments.

As recognized worldwide, the situation of Gaza Strip has become a "humanitarian catastrophe" and the zone turned into a large "grave of children".

Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says:

Not only Israel but also the U.S., which has actively supported its henchmen's massacre, is responsible for having reduced Gaza Strip to a veritable hell.

When the Mideast crisis broke out, the U.S. dispatched a large number of troops to the region, expressing its "support for Israel's right to self-defense".

The U.S. spent huge funds to transfer various heavy weapons and ammunitions to Israel.

Not content with it, the secretaries of State and Defense and even the president of the U.S. visited Israel to renew the commitment to steel-strong "security support".

The U.S. vetoed a proposed UNSC humanitarian resolution calling for ceasefire in Gaza Strip and defusing the terrible humanitarian crisis to "completely shut even a small window of opportunity" for easing the crisis.

If there is anything done by the U.S. in the Middle East, it is its "key role" in fomenting conflict and massacre.

The U.S. has not been directly involved in mass-killing but can never evade its responsibility for the terrible bloodbath. -0-

San Diego was apparently the first city to do this, and even then only halfway subsidized. But the trend is now spreading.

Can we muster the political will for universal childcare? No. But what we can do is provide it for our favorite overpaid security-sector occupations.

Two employees at the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies — a Toronto-based non-profit human rights organization dedicated to Holocaust and antisemitism education — told CBC News that the centre's educators who teach workshops and courses in schools have been instructed to report students who make comments critical of Israel to the organization.

CBC has agreed to keep the employees' names confidential because of a potential risk to their employment.

Comments or questions referencing genocide or occupation of Palestinian people and "anything seen as critical of Israel at all" are to be reported to the organization, said one of the employees.

"The idea is to contact the school, inform the school they have an antisemitism problem and pressure the school to shut down the Palestinian support [by] accusing them of antisemitism, encouraging more pro-Zionist workshops or lessons," they said.

Of note, the SWC conducts workshop in both secondary and primary schools.
