A joint statement by the Australian Paralympic Committee and Australian cycling federation said that Greco "passed away in her Adelaide home after experiencing a sudden medical episode" on Sunday.

Greco, who was born with cerebral palsy, won the first gold medal of the pandemic-delayed Tokyo Paralympics in 2021, breaking her own world record in the women's C1-3 3,000-meter individual pursuit.

She went on to add bronze medals in the road race and time trial.

Greco also won multiple world championship titles and World Cup medals, after bursting onto the para-cycling scene with three world records, two gold medals and a silver at the 2019 track world championship — just a year after switching to cycling from para-athletics.

Mark Williams has withdrawn from the International Championship due to illness.

After Jack Lisowski’s victory in the Northern Ireland Open final, the snooker tour heads to Nanjing in China for the International Championship.

Taking to social media, Williams wrote: "Man down. No International Championship for me. Respiratory infection. "Another week then doing nothing. "Champion of Champions next stop, fingers crossed."

Italy will host the Winter Olympics for a third time - after Cortina in 1956 and Turin in 2006 - but Milano Cortina 2026 is uniquely ambitious: it is the first edition to truly operate as a multi-territory event, with clusters in Milan, Cortina and beyond.

Milan will host the majority of ice sports - figure skating, ice hockey, short track and speed skating - while the Dolomites and Italian Alps will carry the snow events, including alpine skiing, cross-country and the debut of ski mountaineering.

The Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games take place from Friday, February 6 to Sunday, February 22.

However, the Games technically begin on Wednesday, February 4 with the curling mixed doubles round-robin, while there are also women's ice hockey preliminaries and men's snowboard big air qualification before the opening ceremony.

On securing the title, the champion added: "I feel like I'm dreaming. I've thought about this moment since I was six or seven years old and it's probably taken me longer than I'd have liked.

"When my dad died I said to my friend that he would never see me win a title. But my friend said I could still do it for my mum. This is for him and for my mum."

Trump said: "I'm so pleased for Jack. I'll never take it for granted winning in the final, but I'm probably a lot happier than if I'd won, to be honest."

"I gave it my absolute all but it wasn't to be. Jack fully deserved the win and there's no person happier for him than me. It's so nice that he can shut everyone up."

I have grown to love #cricket over the years.

I really appreciate that the #icc make associate cricket, like this T20 world cup qualifier Africa, available to stream for free.

Zimbabwe v Namibia
icc-cricket.com/videos/final-w…

Though in this case #Zimbabwe is actually a full member

I do wish, however, that they would just put it on #YouTube or some other platform I can easily stream to my T.V. Also if it was available #OnDemand it would be much more accessible. As a global game expecting everyone to watch it live is a little silly. @sports @sports #sports

Two further changes to the Champions League

The first of those two changes relates to the ‘Unify’ streaming platform suggested by The Superleague. It would provide a free streaming platform that would broadcast games globally. This would include a free version with more adverts, and a paid version without them. Money would then be made via advertising, and it would end the current TV deal format as we know it.

The other proposal relates to the format. Their idea is to divide the current 36-team league format into two groups of 18. The best-qualified group (according to UEFA ranking) of 18 would play each other in eight games, with the top eight qualifying for the Round of 16. The second eight in ‘Group 1’ would then play the top eight from ‘Group 2’, consisting of the teams ranked 19th to 36th.

The increased number of competitive games in recent years means some players take part in as many as 60 or 70 games a season, which not only hampers players' ability to compete during the club season but can impact their performances with their national teams during major competitions. Henry said he did not play as many games as players do now but even he dealt with the wear and tear of a long season during his playing career.

"I've been in that situation, maybe not the number [of games] that those guys are reaching right now. I used to arrive in tournaments dead – mentally, physically," Henry said said during the UEFA Champions League Today pre-match show on Wednesday. "2002 [World Cup], I arrived injured. [Euro] 2004, I arrived injured. [Euro] 2008, I arrived injured. I just arrived there to play. I couldn't prepare. You don't prepare [for] a competition. "

"For me, it's pretty simple," he said. "It's not about complaining and it's not about saying players earn too much money or debating. It's about having an educational discussion with the players' union – a proper one, not with the ex-players. Don't call me, UEFA. Do not call me, FIFA. I'm not playing anymore. I don't know how it feels anymore. I know how it felt, I don't know how it feels anymore so speak to [Virgil] van Dijk, speak to Mo Salah. … Sit with them. Have a discussion with them. They are the actors right now."

"UEFA adding the Nations League – it wasn't needed," Carrager said. "FIFA adding the Club World Cup was not needed. Nobody is out there asking for those competitions. They're just providing them to make more money and that's it. We know why there is more games."

Henry added that he barely watched the Club World Cup.

It's Sunday so most of my friends are watching #football.

To me it felt like there was way less than an hour of play during a four hour game. So I asked CHATGPT:

In American football, the ball is in play for about 11 minutes on average during a game, despite the game lasting around 3 hours due to frequent stoppages and timeouts.

Uefa is set to make a decision next week on whether to suspend Israel, with most members of its executive committee understood to be in favour of a ban.

A panel of United Nations advisers has called on Fifa and Uefa to suspend Israel after a UN Commission of Inquiry concluded that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.

Sources have told The Times that Uefa plans to call an emergency executive committee next week to vote on the issue and that a large majority of committee members and federations are in favour of suspension — pointing out that Russia has been banned from European competition since its invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

Uefa, of which Israel has been a member since 1994, has held serious discussions at the highest level this week over Israel’s actions in Gaza and how it should respond. In August, Uefa organised a banner at the Super Cup final between Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur, which read, “Stop Killing Children, Stop Killing Civilians”

The Times revealed last month that several European clubs had asked Uefa if there was any way they could avoid playing Israeli opponents.

A suspension of Israel by Uefa would increase the pressure on Fifa to follow suit, but football’s world governing body is in a difficult position because of the close relationship between its president, Gianni Infantino, and Donald Trump.
