First of all, welcome!

If you haven't already, please read the sidebar for the rules etc. If possible, alongside posting a generic YouTube or Bandcamp link to a song, if you could post links to other services you use (such as Spotify) then it makes it easier for people to listen on their preferred platform. This isn't essential, but I think it makes it easier for everyone to access the music and listen the way they want to.

An alternate post structure myself and @Myr@lemmy.world use, which I think looks the nicest, uses the image post format (with the album cover as the image) and links to the relevant platforms at the bottom of the text body. See one of my posts for reference. Again, not essential, just helps keep things uniform.

And if you want to be a real saint, you could remove unnecessary parameters from links ๐Ÿ˜‰ (though I don't expect everyone to go to that much trouble).

Enjoy some good fucking music! ๐Ÿค˜

Blackened speed metal from Oregon! Some could even say they also play black 'n' roll. Simple good fun.

What do you get if you have a cross between heavy, power and thrash in (almost) equal measures? Metal Church!

Old school thrash fom Georgia, USA in 1983. Independently released and sincere in its approach but nothing much else sets it apart. Still a decent time!

Old NWOBHM band making a comeback with this album in 2013 and this is the awesome opener in classic speed metal fashion!

Some earlier Skourge today, just before they grew their death metal edge. but still just as heavy.

The title track from my favourite album! Incredibly powerful!

From Portugal, I'm not sure where to place this genre-wise, but there's a lot of punk and some speed metal in here? Shit loads of D-beats, like nearly every track is a D-beat lol. Lyrics about WWII battles in the Pacific Rim. Anyway, today's second pick is their titular song from their second album, weirdly got this uplifting vibe and makes you wanna yell to the music.

Originally called Lucifer's Heritage, this band from Germany started out playing speed metal with a heavy dose of power metal, but nowadays they basically stick with power metal. Today's pick is their opener from their debut, and what an impression it makes - epic and triumphant, but also with the aggression speed metal is known for.

Slayer's pissed off closer from one of their most controversial albums. The regressive lyrics dont do any favors but this track is how I learned what "catheter" meant lol.

Just a heads up for you guys that don't hate my uploads - I might not be able to post regularly for a couple of days, I'll do what I can whenever, but everything should be back to normal on Sunday.

The debut from these crazy dudes from California. They play thrashcore, which I guess is hardcore punk played at the fastest and thrashiest, but also do some crossover thrash. This one's a little hard for me to pierce as it's definitely not my area but I figure I'd share regardless.

Very raw death thrash. Reminds me of Morbid Saint.

Swedish crust punk mixed with speed metal. With Tomas Lindberg on vocals - the guy from At the Gates and The Crown - so this shit is right the fuck up my valley. Disfear on this album reminds me a bunch of a more punk-y Motorhead! Super fun combo, despite the lyrics lol. Linked is the opener track, but I also recommend the other tracks Testament and In Exodus.

Tidal, Bandcamp, RateYourMusic, and believe it or not - no Metal Archives page lmao

Thrashified, blackened Motorhead, but with some influence from Power Trip thrown in for good measure, these guys from Indiana know how to write short and fun tracks to get the fist pumpin. The sum is not greater than the parts, though, so temper your expectation. Today's pick is probably their catchiest track.

German thrashers Paradox play addictive thrash mixed with their technical/progressive flair. The vocals are fairly unique, as far as thrash goes.

Split-up Finnish band that used to play decent speed metal. Just discovered this and I'm making a second post here - my fav from this swansong album of theirs, a midpaced track with a sick as hell solo and great overall tone.

Certain things just stick out to you, generally, and just makes you wanna share em immediately, you know? xD

Old school Floridian death metal in the vein of Massacre (check out that band name font xD), infused with a healthy dose of thrash. Riffage is fun and easily headbangable, but with enough of that osdm vibe to feel like you're in the early 90's again - even got the goofy ass album cover lol.

New single from Fugitive! Thanks @Myr@lemmy.world for first bringing this band to my attention! Can't wait for a full-length!

Crossover thrash in the vein of Power Trip, these dudes from Massachusetts set themselves apart with their themes and lyrical content. This particular track today is fast and relentless with lots of Slayer worship that gets the fist pumping.

New York band Prong started out with hardcore punk and crossover while adding groove and industrial elements over their career - they've been heavily influenced by Killing Joke.

Excellent, powerful speed metal! Cyriis' vocals aren't great in the mid-low pitch range, however outstanding in the high-range imo. Up there with the most unique thrash vocalists, and also with the best screams in thrash!

Love when death metal bands cover Metallica tracks. In my opinion it blows all of the post-Black Album stuff away, and even some classics. Sound production is thick and clean, and it definitely got me interested in hearing the rest of their discography, which seems to be in the melodic death metal/djent style.

Tidal, Bandcamp with only their latest EP, RateYourMusic, Encyclopaedia Metallum

Love this album, my favourite of Witchery so far, for its excellent atmosphere and unique feel. Plus it's blackened thrash of course ;D.
