Hi everyone!

I downloaded music and movies all my life without any worries. Im from Argentina and piracy isn’t a problem there.

Im actually living in Spain and i don’t know how things work here. Should i use a vpn or take any special measures when torrenting here?

If so, can u recomend any? Can u tell me how you download your shit?

Have a nice day!

So I recently got into a few private trackers which got me pretty excited just to notice today that my share ratio is abyssmal even though I have my qbittorrent configured to seed everything until the inactive seeding time reaches 10 days.

Now I understand I can only seed when someone wants to leech it. That is not what this is about.

As far as I noticed, the private site still considers torrents to be downloaded even when my swaparr cancels the download due to me not getting the metadata for too long. Is this correct? What would be the best course of action to prevent getting ratioed (lol) by inactive torrents?

Is it

a) remove the download from the arr but leave it in qbittorrent so that it eventually downloads and seeds it back without blocking my actual media download?

b) increase the time needed to consider the torrent inactive and remove it to more than my 45 minutes?

c) just ignore it and pray for good torrents that i can seed to increase my ratio? (this option still leaves those abandoned torrents in my HnR list though. isnt this bad?)

I am looking for projects that I can contribute to through torrenting. Ideally, projects with a good(ish) cause in mind. Whenever possible, I try to download FOSS via torrent and permaseed. I've also started making my bandwidth available for Anna's Archive, especially those books/texts that need seeders the most. FInally, I started downloading some content from Kiwix so I'm permaseeding any of those. What else can I do? I'm trying to steer clear of any of the usual torrenting sites.

I have been torrenting for a little while now and use ProtonVPN with port forwarding. I use their P2P preset and use qbittorrent. In the beginning it was all fine and working, i got a solid seeding speed of ~800Mbits after configuring everything (I have 1 Gigabit internet speed). Lately though it’s like no traffic goes through.

There are countless of times that I get a bad gateway or time out whenever i try to open any website. The torrent takes ages to retrieve metadata and my upload/download speed can go anywhere between 50KiB/s to 70MiB/s. Usually at the higher end when i’m idling and not doing anything else and after having it run for a while. But it’s been getting worse and worse and worse and i have no clue why.

  • I’ve tried changing from Wireguard TCP to UDP, no luck.
  • I’ve tried changing firewall privileges, no luck.
  • I’ve tried changing countries, mixed results.
  • I’ve tried setting connection limits in qBittorrent, no luck.
  • I’ve updated my routers firmware, no luck.

My internet speeds are fine otherwise without VPN. Is it VPN accelerator or maybe Alternative Routing?

I don’t know what to do. Is it my ISP slowing it all down because they are detecting all of this traffic being routes through a VPN? Is it some configuration I haven’t thought of? I really need help. I’ve tried troubleshooting with ChatGPT but he just gives the most basic solutions ever that I’ve already tried.

So I have just setup automation with Sonarr and Radarr. And this issue is affecting both Sonarr and Radarr.

[READ BELOW FOR INFO] Essentially, the issue is, is that whenever I download something through Sonarr, which goes to qbittorrent, it downloads into /synology/TV. However, sonarr is creating an empty folder for the show in /synology/TV/[Show name]. After the download is completed in qbittorrent, the download isn't moved into that folder, it remains in /synology/TV.

E.G. I send a request for "Friends" from sonarr. Sonarr then creates the empty folder "Friends (1994)", so the directory would be /synology/TV/"Friends (1994)".

HOWEVER, when the media download is completed and removed from /synology/Incomplete, it gets placed in /synology/TV not .../"Friends (1994)".

It obviously shows that it is going to the save path I have for the qbittorrent category "tv-sonarr", but when I don't have a save path, it downloads to /synology/tv-sonarr, which isnt a directory so I can't win there. And it's not like I can hardcode tv-sonarr to be /download/TV/"Friends (1994)" because, well other shows will be in there.

I know this can be done but I don't know how to do it. If anyone can give me a hand, that would be fantastic as I have been pulling my hair out for days.

Here is an imgur link with some photos of sonarr and qbittorren that may help: https://imgur.com/a/wSLGQog

Some background info.

  • I have sonarr, radarr, prowlarr, and qbittorrent as Docker containers;

  • The download path on my system (ubuntu server) is:

/synology

/TV

/Movies

/Incomplete

  • In qbittorrent, I have the volume /downloads pointing to /synology

  • In sonarr, I have /Media, pointing to /synology/TV. And this works when importing my library.

  • Connected qbittorrent as the download client to sonarr, which added the category (in qbittorrent), "tv-sonarr", and I edited the save path to /downloads/TV

-In qbittorrent download options, I have:

Default Torrent Management Mode: Automatic

Default save path: /downloads

Keep Incomplete Torrents In: /downloads/Incomplete

  • In sonarr, I have the option ticked in Media Management to create empty series folders (and some thing for radarr equivalent).

Seeders are available but most of my torrents are stuck - I tried all the google results with advanced and connection settings. Using Qbittorrent with Eddie/Airvpn on a Mac.

Hello folks. First sorry for my english. Well I just setup all the arrs, including autobrr and cross-seed. Now I'm trying to automate the deletion of public and already well seeded private torrents (low space). I check several tools but I think I fall in love with tqm, I really like all the control it provide so I really want to understand all the options. The problem is I didnt found any detailed help.

If someone can point me to any web or video article I will be eternally gratefull.

I understand:

  • ignore
  • pause
  • remove (mostly)

I don't:

  • Differences and uses of label and tags.
  • update: looks like a filter, only apply this tag or label if all conditions are meet.
  • "sonarr-imported" where that come from. I know in Rad/Sonarr you can configure the client to change the torrent category after importing so maybe Label == Category but not sure.
  • lot other details.

What's my goal:

  • Seed public torrent for 3 days but whit a limited upload speed.
  • Seed private torrents for at least a month and only delete when the drive space gets low deleting the oldest (if possible). I can manage de deletion manually but I will like at least that tqm manage tagging the already well seeded torrents.
  • Permaseed low seeders count torrents.
  • Remove not registered on tracker torrents (SeedPool remove single files when a complete season exist, don't know others).
  • The most important part, just to learn.

Private trackers (if you need to know):

  • Old Toons World
  • Milkie
  • Hawke-uno
  • SeedPool
  • Torrentleech

I'm not asking for someone to do my job but if you have a working instance of tqm and can provide some examples I will be very gratefull.

Note: Not IA post, so please no hate 👍️

I really cannot afford a VPN, and I know that there are many risks to downloading torrents without one. I am in Thailand, and from some googling it seems that the chance of any legal stuff affecting me is slim. I have downloaded a few files over the past few days and have been fine.

I am more worried about safety though. Much like VPNs I also cannot afford a paid antivirus and is at risk if any virus actually gets on my device. Currently I'm only torrenting videos from 1337x, which I think are pretty safe, and I make sure to not run any unknown executable files(haven't seen any yet though). Is doing this enough to keep me safe? Or am I still at risk?

Also, this concern had led me to not seed at all after leeching in order to keep the time that I'm connected as short as possible. I know it's not ethical to do this but I have read that seeders are easier to "catch" especially with no VPN like me.

Just like the title says, I'm a huge fan of MovieBox for re-watching films. The app's interface is slick, and it has a massive library that's perfect for when I want to revisit an old favorite. I always head to the theater for the first viewing—nothing beats that cinematic experience—but for a second or third time, a great streaming app is essential. I'm wondering if there are any other apps out there that might be even better. What do you all use and love for re-watching movies? Any suggestions for an app that could outdo MovieBox in terms of library size, streaming quality, or user experience?

I’m recognising a pattern, specifically now. Whenever I try download a torrent of a larger file size (in this case, about 100GiB), the torrent download speed randomly always drops to like 1kb/s or less…like indefinitely. It’s not a seeding issue - there are hundreds/thousands of seeders for this specific torrent. It’s not an internet issue (speed tested, download maxes set, other torrents download fine, etc). What could be the problem?

I'm looking for a good/cheap long-term way to seed massive archives (20TB and growing) without burning out my home NAS. I want to keep sharing the full archive, mostly private tracker stuff, but my local setup is starting to choke on the load, especially at 24/7 and the power bills that come with it.

I thought about moving the whole thing to a high-capacity seedbox (some go up to 100TB or more) and offloading the stress from my hardware entirely. I used to run a smaller 6TB setup on AppBox and they do have higher capacity options BUT they're still a bit too expensive to pay monthly for me (https://www.appbox.co/).

So ideally, I'd want to automate syncing new files via rclone or Nextcloud, keep things seeding full-time via ruTorrent/qBittorrent, and still have access for remote streaming or file management. And save as much as possible.

So if you have a fully remote setup for long-term seeding, how are you doing it? What works better in terms of stability, bandwidth, tracker compliance, and so on?

New to Private Trackers and I'm not getting much upload traffic despite having tens of torrents going across several trackers.

A few trackers have issues where the announcers are showing as "Working" but "Rate Limit Exceeded. Please Wait"

I use VPN - so could it be an issue with the IP being used heavily?

Main Question is - Is this a problem? will it affected my ability to seed?

I wanted to install a few Total War games (Napoleon, Empire and Medieval II) via torrent. When I tried to launch Napoleon, it didn’t work, Medieval II said that there’s an error, and Empire didn’t even download, because uTorrent didn’t accept the file.

I’ve already played Napoleon on my old laptop with Windows 10 installed, using exact same torrent file from exact same site.

Is the problem in my antivirus or version? Is there a software that can help to run these games?

Lately, I've noticed that new episodes from a show, especially those on Netflix, Paramount, or Amazon, are no longer appearing in 4K HDR, as they used to. Did something happen? For context, I usually watch on Stremio on my Google TV using Real Debrid.

Surf Shark has worked well in the past, but suddenly lately nothing is downloading. I just tried some test torrents, and nothing. Neither magnet links nor torrent files are working. I'm stuck with Xfinity for ISP and they spam me with nastygrams whenever I torrent without a VPN. Any tips on troubleshooting this? Is Surf Shark having issues?
