I live in a relatively small city in Canada that isn't close to any major city. I see Ukrainian immigrants on a daily basis. For instance, just last night, I was talking to a group of Ukrainians at a bar. The morning of the day before that, I was smoking a cigarette outside and a Ukrainian guy walking by and asked to borrow a lighter. Later, when I went to a fast food place for lunch, there were some Ukrainian guys in front of me ordering. When I visited Toronto awhile ago, I saw many more (the vast majority were young). My family in Poland (I'm Polish Canadian) says that Ukrainian is regularly heard on the streets, and they are a very prominent group, and apparently its similar in other European nations as well. Not too mention the one's the went to the USA, Australia, New Zealand, and other places. While Ukraine is a pretty populous country (around 40 million), surely an exodus on such a scale must have caused drastic effects to the Ukrainian economy. Now, I see many more Indians and Chinese than Ukrainians, but those nations have over a billion people. 40-45 million is a lot, but not that much. Are there some areas in Ukraine that are largely devoid of young people?
