Привіт! My Ukrainian is still not great, but I would to share my small contribution to Ukraine, in that it may inspire or help others do the same.

Background: My grandfather was Ukrainian, he passed before I was born. I met a Ukrainian girl early last year - we are now close friends, and I also spend a lot of time with her mother and brother, who are here in Australia too.

Last week I performed at an event raising money for Ukraine (including a song in Ukrainian). The charity has raised money to provide things such as ambulances, and wheelchairs. SLAVA, is the name.

From here, I am looking at using my music industry connections to set up my own charity shows for this cause. I am also looking into a donation tin, for my busy workplace.

For the family I have befriended I have also done small things. Helped them find products they want to buy. Settled a dispute with a neighbour (he's my mate now hahaha), and fixed their car.

While these are small things, nothing would have been possible if I did not begin learning the language in March, 2024. I hope I can do much more. But I want to encourage others to do as many small things as possible.

I am travelling from australia by plane to Czechia and then catching train to Slovakia, then from slovakia by train to Ukraine (not near the war zones however)

I speak Russian but will be learning some ukrainian too aswell to help me

I really want tips on where I can go to see all the beautiful landscapes, lakes mountains etc, and what time of year to travel? I want to ski and iceskate on lakes and stuff in Slovakia but when in Ukraine u want to see some scenery that isn't necessarily covered in snow either
