why would AOC need critical support? she isn't on our side and her vision of "democracy" "economic rights" and "civil liberties" are as meaningless as when Biden or Blinken talk about "human rights" or "democracy." she called a white supremacist a white supremacist and that's cool and all, but she upholds the system that enables people like him

is this the bit where the meaning of critical support is thought to be ‘necessary/vital support’ (i.e. critical hit, critical operation) and not ‘support with regards to specific ventures with assumed criticism holistically’

like, when I say ‘critical support to Russia in providing aid to Cuba in defiance of US sanctions’ I don’t mean ‘Russia needs vocal support for this action because it is necessary and vital’ I mean ‘Russia is doing something good with this specific thing, and while I am acknowledging that, I want to clear away any insinuation that I am also defending, agreeing with, or trafficking in apologia for, say, the reactionary treatment of the LGBTQ+ population within Russia.’
