Sometimes questionable policy decisions, combined with the desire to reduce centralization on .world.

This is like the third time LW tried to be front-and-center in deciding how conversations should happen on Lemmy. You are the most popular Lemmy instance and most content is on your instance. Well, first off, way too many communities are already there. What's the point of coming to a federated service if we end up with most of it in the hands of the few admins again?

Secondly, well, if you're happy there I'll leave it at that.

Yeah but this meme refers to abandoned communities. I get creating new communities on other instances, but there's nothing wrong with adopting an abandoned community that is already there.

Wholeheartedly disagree. If it abandoned and no one's posting then why revive? If it's active and unmoderated, sure.
