Update: Per Gematsu, it seems this was invented out of whole cloth by the interpreter at the event.

I liked Chrono Cross, but it was definitely not perfect. It was infamously rushed out the door too early. They had to hastily dump half the lore of the game into walls of text at the last minute before the final boss.
