I'm looking for something quality without spending much more than EUR 50. I'm guessing the best way to go is a refurbished or second hand Playstation controller? (currently boycotting Microsoft). I appreciate any recommendations.

I see some good looking budget options but then read about occasional lag issues, stuck buttons or incompatibility with games. But these are designed for major consoles so maybe that's all irrelevant when it comes to macOS compatibility. I'm totally green here. Thanks!

Iโ€™ve heard good things about the GameSir Nova Lite as a great quality but cheaper alternative (and it has Hall effect sticks, which should make it more durable than an official PS pad).

Seriously considering this, thank you! I'll update if I get it :)
