Goddamned right. Every fucking time we go to the doctor or something similar we make sure the services are covered in our plan and every time we end up with a bill between 600-1000 dollars that we have to waste time contesting because someone at some step used the wrong code or whatever. EVERY TIME.
In fact, and I am not even joking, I literally got billed today for an appointment for my son that was supposed to be a $20 copay, and now they are asking for $900. I work at a multi-billion dollar company and this is the sort of insurance nonsense I deal with. I don’t even blame my employer either. It should never fall on their shoulders to provide this service.
It’s the most absurd shit to have to deal with, and it’s so consistently and thoroughly broken that I simply cannot believe this has not sparked a revolution.
