I'm looking around at all the stuff that needs to be packed and feeling very unmotivated. I'd like a magic wand please.

I'll do you one better. Let me present the Tinybreak guide to packing:

1)Make a bunch of Boxes

2)Pick up an item

3)consider "does this spark joy"?

4)Decided you dont care, yeet it into a box.

To take this to the pro level: -Skip Step 3 and try to avoid putting fragile shit at the bottom. A couple of drinks and a bluetooth speaker with some gym music really helps things along too.

To be clear, this is legit advice. yeet it all into a box sort it out at the other end.

I still have a few weeks before the move and I'd like to cull some of my stuff a bit more instead of moving stuff I don't actually want. Panicked yeeting into a box is scheduled for everything left the week before the move.

I have managed to pack two boxes of fragile servingware today. All boxes are being liberally padded out with bits of fabric from my stash. By the time I get to the sewing room there should not be much fabric left to pack.

Sending house pixies your way, when I find them

[โ€“] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Ooh, I leaned about how to find those when I was in Brownies. You have to go find a pond, turn around three times and look in the water while reciting a rhyme to see them. It goes "twist me and turn me and show me the elf". You look in the water and see..... yourself.

Indoctrinating young girls into their role as house keepers, gotta love it. Pretty sure the Scouts didn't get that one. Unfortunately it's also right, this is all on me. I'd rather a helpful pixie.

Ah, was never part of such an organisation but it sounds unpleasant.
